Math is my best subject.
Science is cool.
But math is better.

Science all the way, especially phisics.

Although math is also a favourite.

I prefer Math a lot more because even though I have an A in both of those classes I think Math is funner and a little harder then Science.

Well I like science but math is better so I pick math.

Science! Wait until you guys get up to upper level math, it is not as fun. I used to like it too, before trig. and calculus.

Science is a lot more fun. Sure it takes a lot of studying, but it is actually interesting and applicable to real life! I like when I learn something that I can actually apply. The only applicable math that I will ever use is statistics, which is why it is my favorite college math course. All the other ones are a waste of time. Plus, I am a very visual learner, so things like biology come more natural to me, as opposed to math, which you cannot picture or touch.

Hey Carlie I have ask myself that question many times before. Why do we have to learn something that is going to be useless in our lives, but then I heard one of my teachers say something about that it's not the material that you learn is important, it's the ability to learn and understand new and hard things, which is a very valuble skill that is needed in life.

I understand that they want you to think, but I prefer doing it with actually useful information. There are many ways to teach a person how to think, and teaching them something relevant in the process makes the most sense to me. Some things, when you learn, you think that it is useless, and that you will never use that bit of knowledge. However, with many of my classes, I have found a surprising amount of overlap, and importance in what I once thought was useless information. However, I have still never run into that with math. Once you get into the higher level math, you will never use that information again.

Science overlaps, it fits well together. There are endless possibilities, and so much is new! To me, math seems more finite and useless... I would much rather discover a new species in the bottom of the ocean, than find some random math equation that no one will probably ever end up using. Science is fun, you can see it, smell it, touch it.

Math is... blegh.

But my maths is E.
So.
Science.

Science, obviously. Cal turned me off of math for LIFE. I was going to go into engineering until I took that class and realized the kind of math it would entail. Now I'm going into music comp.

You don't even mention the science you're talking about, because many of the sciences are so closely intertwined with math you couldn't tell the difference. Take, for example, physics. It's pretty much all formulas and calculations. As is upper-level chemistry.

The science that I am referring to is more physical science, not mathematical type. For example, I like biology a lot. But when it comes to general chemistry and calculations, I don't like it! However I don't mind organic chemistry, because I can visually imagine what is going on. With physics, it depends on the topic. I never liked classical physics, but the physics class I am taking now (and studying for the final of... eep!), is mostly conceptual and not based so much around equations. So I do not mind it so much. It is when science gets mathematical that I start to lose interest. My brain just doesn't work that way as well.

I could never be an engineer! My roommate just switched from Neurobiology to Computer Science Engineering. I couldn't even imagine... she is always doing math! Yuck!

From engineering to music huh? That is a pretty big leap!

I know what you mean! I am doing my major so that I can go into marine biology, which is a field that I find fascinating. Granted, what I want to do will not pay much, but I know that I will love every day of it!

And I completely understand what you are saying about the mystery of it all. I was talking to a graduate student the other day who does research on deep sea corals, and he was talking about how he gets to go in this little submarine thousands of meters down to the abyssal plains in the sea... aaahhh I was so envious! New species are found every time they go down there, there is just so much left undiscovered!

Well... I went from what would make lots of money to what I could feasibly accomplish and be happy with myself for doing. Plus I was young when I wanted to go into engineering.

I love chemistry, though. Especially when you get into the aspects of the atom itself, the things that we don't know much about yet. That's what I like about science - mysteries about how things work that are left mostly to your imagination, that we can't fully explain yet. We can't really be sure what exactly an atom is made up of, it's all speculation based on experimentation. And I had to retype that word THREE TIMES >_<
