Well if it "melts" my brain, my teachers better stop telling us to watch the news. I mean there are so many good things on TV, yet parents/teachers just like to use it as something to blame beacuse they can't think of anything at the moment.
TV's and other devices like cell phones and microwaves all emit a form of radiation called EMF waves.
They don't exactly melt you're brain, but they do damage them greatly. The EMF waves have been linked to cancer and brain tumors.
In one study, a women had a brain tumor the exact size and shape of her cell phone antennae, and it was located in the spot where her antennae is parallel to her head when she talked on the cell phone. They have been other cases similar to this reported.
The only way to deal with this that i know of is these little chips that you stick on the devices and they basically "harmonize" the waves to a point where they are not deadly anymore. There are a bunch of companies that make them, but the biggest one and the one my family uses is BioPro.
So yeah...i have heard my talk about it enough that i knew that ^^
in my opinion t.v is awesome i mean but you also have to get out once in a while and just get some fresh air but i still love T.V some channels and stuff i stear clear of but i sumtimes like watching nat geo but they have some pretty good stuff on comedy channel like robot chicken.
but i do agree that if you watch it like 8 hours a day every day or even less than that it can do some damage
Nope TV does not melt your brain but if you keep your face glued onto the TV 24/7 Your brain shall definitely melt and zombies will feast on it's buttery melted brainy goodness!
Anyway, most of us have better or worse things to do instead of watching TV all day. School, work, other recreation activities and things needed. I can't even watch TV for long since everyone else is watching in my house.

TV is the greatest invention since the electrical age began. Think about it. Without a TV, we wouldn't have computers. We wouldn't have cell phones. We wouldn't have iPods. Think about it.
(Also, if you watch 24, it's great for totally awesome lead-ins...)
The majority of it is good foryou I think. (I learnt everything I know about animals from David Attenborough). Obviously there is some rubbish but even that is fun to watch sometimes. Random kids TV shows are hilarious. (anyone seen Raven?). I'm not sure how bad it is to you as far as radio waves etc. go but it serves its purpose as a distraction and sometimes an educational tool perfectly well.
I disagree with you that the majority is beneficial. There is so much shit nowadays. There are so many channels that anything can get on the air. Things like Attenbrough's documentaries are rare gems. I believe the educational potential of tv is massive, but that it could be much, much better.
However it depends on the viewer. You choose what to watch, you make the choice of watching good or bad tv. It is not tv itself that is bad, but it is you. Hmm, quite profound that, you can quote me if you like xd
