I was thinking about that, but how many people who go on AG go on other websites as well? I do, but I would also like to keep AG as a base. Main or not.
I still have to organize some things, and I like your offer Matthewest, but there is a first time for everything...
I play D&D. More specifically, I DM. We just started a new campain, but I have a pretty good batch of players and a good, home-brewed setting, so I'll see how it goes.
If your going to start a club, then may I make a few suggestions?
A D&D club would be pointless unless people actually played online, in that case, might as well make it a normal RPG club. If there is anything that does not work over online RPGs, that would be the stats. Most RPGs, however, don't have a GM of some sort. Everyone plays a part in creating the mission or story. This club could keep some sort of GM, though in time you may or may not find it best to disregard having one.
The club could recruit members here, but you can not RP over forums. There needs to be a chat room that is set up just for RPing. One that could be modded by the lead member, or if there is one... the GM.
If you could get multiple sessions going on at one time (as in having 3 different groups of people, all sharing one place to RP) would be nice, of course, there would have to be a seperate room for each group.
If you could create something along those lines, or find an appropriate and well modded site with chat rooms, then I would gladly help out with the club.
About the ranks, ranks are STUPID and pointless in almost all cases. There are however a few ranks or positions that would be needed.
Club Master- leader of the club
Club Hand- members of the club who have extensive knowlage of how things work. They would be, in a way, the moderators of the club.
Club Member- member of the club.
Of course, you could change the rank names to anything you want, but I suggest they remain as I kept them.
And NoName, I think forums are generally more popular than chatrooms when it comes to RPing over the internet. GMs will mostly be the ones who have an idea for a longer story, and leaves hints about it in the surroundings, which is under their control (good to have one person who is in charge of the surroundings, as chaos may otherwise ensue).
Yeah... Just felt like saying that. I don't really like D&D, mainly because of it's classes and rule system. It's too stiff and stuff... Their monsters are pretty cool, though.
