President Obama told congressional leaders Thursday he's planning to pull all combat troops out of Iraq by August 2010, which falls short of his campaign promise to bring all combat forces home within 16 months, so its a good 19 months from his inaugeration date.

What do you have to say on this topic?

Iraq has not surrendered because they are still fighting. Have you not heard the news, there are still terrorists blowing stuff up because they don't have it their way. They are mad about the U.S "taking over" their land. So, in retaliation, they are fighting back. Until the war actually stops, then I will listen. But until that time comes, I think the soldiers will be in Iraq for a long time.

uh, yes I have heard the news, as I recall the united states already set up a pseudo-democracy. Because the original Iraqi government surrendered. The terrorist bombings are not apart of the Iraqi surrender, because they have no say in the government... Barack Obama is currently actively pumping troops into Iraq to withdraw them later.

This is funny because I'm on the list for the Jan 2010 rotation that will last for 9 months. So I doubt it will be canceled.

With all the promises Obama's already broken, what makes anyone think this is going to happen?
