Does anyone have any opinions on how the Earth really is?

Scientists have evidence dating back to around that time.

Ya, But don't they use the same test they did on a dolphin or whale that was dead for one day. It said it was like a million years old!

Different scientists use different tests for different things.

Yeah scientists use different radioactive isotopes to date older things. Carbon-14 is only for things less than 50,000 years old. Now of course these methods of seeing how much of a radioactive isotope is on something and using knowledge of half-lives isn't perfect, it's the best thing we've got for dating stuff scientifically. If you believe that the world is 7000 years old or whatever, please reconsider. I'm not judging you, but the world has to be older than that. Too much has happened to have happened in that short of time.

What proof is there that the earth is so many billions of years old?

He means like everything fromk cars to dinosaurs. They think that can't happen in like 8,000 years.

How do to you tell how old anything is?

Comparative to the existence of man, we only recently discovered that the Earth wasn't the center of the universe and that the sun didn't actually revolve around the Earth.

Now what makes you think, with our limited knowledge, that we could possibly understand something that is older than the human race?
