I've read the firefox thread and I still have some doubts.
___________________________________________________________

1. Is the download free?

2. Can I have both IE and firefox?

3. If I change to firefox my internet files(Cookies) will be deleted?

4. Is firefox more safe then IE? I mean is the pop-up blocker good?

5. The ad-ons are free? I think so But I'm not sure.

Well Firefox may run slower if you don't have too much RAM(I am thinking it is RAM)but the way it is run on your computer is a bit different so depending on the situation I think it could run slower, but this has not been an issue for me,and the ad-blocker is an add-on mainly which is still to this day probably the best one out there.Google Chrome, and IE even with its newest version of IE8 which I have to say has really become upgraded in many ways and now allows for free add-ons that install within a second or two after you click on it to download(well it did for me at least but it installs the add-ons much quicker either way) and it has some other interesting features to it as well, but I still use Firefox because I like my theme on there and all the add-ons I already have. Also my cookies all transferred over from IE when I downloaded Firefox so I am not quite sure what you are talking about dacer. In fact I believe the cookies can be transferred over no matter what browser you have and this is coming from someone who has on their computer all 5 of the major browsers

All 5 of the major browsers as seen on my desktop(I plan on venturing out and getting more browsers for my collection though)

Anyways IE is known for being one of the most supported by developers and supposedly the most stable,Safari is one of the fastest, and plans on taking back its spot as the fastest internet browser over Chrome when it comes to loading JavaScript.Apparently Opera is the most compatible with any Operating System, including ones you may have never heard of,and is also very adaptable. While looking at info on web browsers I found that a browser named flock is becoming increasingly popular and is based more towards being a social networking browser of some sort.Anyways there is really nothing to lose just by trying Firefox so just try it,get some free(they are all free) ad-ons for it and see if you like it.If not then you can just go back to IE,nothing gained, nothing lost.

Well if you think of it this way, it's only taken Firefox 3 times to make a decent web browser...it's taken I.E. over 7 times just to attempt to work out all the bugs.

oh wow thats nice fyrefox, but don't you think its just because IE has been around longer that they have that many versions of it?I mean before IE7,IE6 didn't have tabs, and now IE8 has add-ons and better security features(or so they say)but anyways its interesting to have that come from someone who is named fyrefox with what many have joked to look like the Fire Fox logo as his armatar.

twice as slow as IE in some situations, my computer for one

Seriously? For me IE is like 5 times slower. That's shocking.
half the pictures DON'T show on firefox
All of mine do, you must have installed some crappy add blocker that doesn't work.
the layout is so..... lame
Its easy to work with, that's what you should want.
and the cookie thing is annoying.
What cookie thing?

made billions of what exactly? If you are talking about money or users then Fire fox is second in downloads directly after IE and IE comes with Windows the most used OS out there,so really I think the reason why IE is used so much is because people don't want to switch over to another web browser for one reason or another a majority of the time. That or they are like you...

Uh, yeah. Firefox is supposed to be free, they WANT it to be free, it's their main goal to have a good, free web browser that works for just about anything you want to do.
Internet Explorer is made by Microsoft. Microsoft = greedy.

also as a note you do realize that all of the major web browsers including IE(as long as you have Windows) are free to download right?

I know that, but I forgot when I made the reply, so I caused a tumor in my brain.

Well Firefox and I.E. are to different places. So when you make a website make sure it looks good on both. Firefox only seems unsafe but actually it has other things attached to it to make it safe. Then Internet Explorer has cookies they are like trackers. Also they were made differently so that is why websites look different sometimes.

well yeah when you make a web site that is something you definitely want to probably take into account. The only browsers that are probably made in a similar way are flock,FireFox,and Netscape. The reason is Netscape made Mozilla, and from that bred the other two browsers(I just got flock and it has a pretty nice set up to tell you the truth, and has a lot of the same features as Fire Fox,except its made a lot more for people who are social networking site fiends)Anyways I think all web browsers use cookies, but Firefox is known for being very secure.

Yes, but when Firefox first came out I.E. was still pretty bad and lacking things that Firefox had.

that they have that many versions of it?
They have many version solemnly because they had to keep going back after adding something to fix the bugs that occurred.

I mean before IE7,IE6 didn't have tabs, and now IE8 has add-ons and better security features(or so they say)
Well, if I recall (possibly wrong), but didn't Firefox 1 have tabs?

but anyways its interesting to have that come from someone who is named fyrefox
Well, first of all I was using I.E. when I got this computer, I had abosolutely no knowledge of Firefox before I joined AG and read the "Mozilla Firefox" thread. So, by than the "Firefox" comments came. Although my name honestly doesn't refer to Firefox at all.

with what many have joked to look like the Fire Fox logo as his armatar.
Like I said above I had no prior knowledge to "Firefox" to begin with. I just chose the armatar because it was a fox and the word "fox" is in my name."

There! All around, it's better than IE. And, any cookies are in FF that were already in IE. So.. easy transfer!
