I've yet to see the film, but i've read the first two books in the series...and i have to say, i don't get it.
Ok, the first one i'll accept was setting the scene, so we have 100+ chapters (or did it just seem like that) of ludicrous description of the town, the people, how handsome Edward was, and how pale Bella was. And all of a sudden, the whole story seemed to be sqashed into the last 10th of the book.
And then we got the second installment, where it was even worse. I guessed the whole point of the story within the first few chapters so having to persevere through the mammoth fodder that was New Moon just to be proved right was painstaking.
This actually insults our kids. IT's a Harry POtter wanna be, but with one important aspect missing - a plot! ITs 99% descriptive crap with 1% story plot thrown in at the last minute to justify the whole thing.
Twilight had potential to be a great movie. But due to bad budgeting, some cheesey writing, lack of important story parts, and special effects failures, it was only okay.
Twilight's the only book that's made me feel like less of a man after reading.
Wow. I agree. I read the book because I heard that werewolves and vampires were in it. I thought the two species would fight. They didn't. I searched up the others and they didn't fight in them.
Well... I don't know if this has happened to you guys, but there are two group of girls at my school practically yelling at each other about this so I decided to try and stay in the know by reading the book and it was the most sappy thing ever!!!
i liked the books and read the first two before the movie came out. when i watched the movie i didnt like it at all. it ruined the books for me i never finished them
