I think Armor games should have a better way for members to talk through instead of going to the persons profile everytime. We should have a button or something on our profile which tells us when the member was last on and if he online right now. Anyone Agree or Disagree? Voice your opinion.

You can talk in the Tavern

The tavern is not the place to chat though. If a user is online, there will be a green circle next to his/her username. If he/she is not, the same circle will be red. So there is a feature like you described already here on AG.

you can't chat in the sense that each topic has to have its own thread

I'm talking about two people talking to each other. AG also has unofficial chat rooms some where. They really need to make better chat rooms. Kongregate has built in chat rooms.

There is supposed to be an unofficial armorgames chat. I would post a link to it but I just can't find it. Like it doesn't exist any more.

Yeah but when Armourgames did have a chat, users abused it and it was taken away because a lot of people could not be responsible on the chat. Hence why it has yet to be brought back or even tried to be implemented again.

I like this, I think it's good because it would help us with two things. It'd tell people if the user's inactive(been gone for three millions years), just for informing reasons, and it'd let us know a general time when they tend to be online as opposed to the time you normally get online(in a way).

Although I don't see much more positives to the whole idea than that. As we already have an online/offline button, and chat rooms are in the hands of the Admins and the amount of trust they have with our community here.

That is a good feature. I do not think it will be hard to implement.

Alas, you are correct. Chat even in Kongregate is filled with spammers and trolls. It would be difficult but not impossible, to effectively moderate these chatrooms.

Everyone has had this problem, simply like a private messenger as well, wishing someday we would get this, hopefully, and somethings I would like to keep a secret to a friend but can't even tell them, because everyone would know -.-

You can talk in the Tavern

And no, that would just be spam, Example
Example Posts:
Hey John

Example 2 posts:
Hey larry

And so on and so on, you can do that on their profile.

I would argue that saying hey to each other shouldn't be called talking... It's more... Like greeting or something...

There is a link to the official unofficial AG chat on Carlie's profile.

We had the 'last active' feature for a while. It was making the site lag horribly because it was constantly pulling information. Will probably be re-implemented when the devs figure out how to make it work without the lag.

Generally I'd say you should just get an instant messaging program like MSN or AIM.

That's good. I'd really like to see that re-implemented.

I agree but not everyone is willing to use those.

It's obviously up to them, but no site is obligated to provide their users with a way of chatting. So it basically just makes it easier for yourself, if you're willing to get one of the most commonly used messaging services.

If you did not notice, there is a place to share your AIM and MSN information so that you can add each other. If you do not want to post that information up, then leave the information under your friend's profile page.

AIM and MSN are both great programs to have. If you do not have them, download them. If you do not want to download them, then all you can do is accept the limitations on this site.

I see. Well, I guess the users question is already answered and the "Last Active" feature is being considered for re-implementation so there isn't much reason to be here anymore.
