Noww... If you had to use one to fight with (whether it be against an endless samurai army or a charge of knights, a monkey with rabies or a ninja) what would it be? So basically, what would be your all purpose weapon?

Probably an M61 Vulcan cannon mount on a helicopter, but if I had to be on foot, an M60, and if it is midevil, I would use a zweihander, which were generally 6-7 feet long, and anywhere from 3-16 pounds. The Zweihänder was used by elite german foot soldiers that were at the front lines to cut down pikeman and spearmen. A good wielder of the sword could decapitate multiple enemies with a single swing, these swords were bad ass
if i had no limit to ammo... i would probably have to agree with thepyro and take the vulcan... obviously it would be mounted on the ground and i would have an indestructable backside so i only had to focus forward
My favorite weapon would be a clip crossbow. Despite being totally outdated, they where major killing machines around when they were perfected, due to their extreme power. And the clip keeps you from reloading every shot.
My all-purpose weapon would be a winged mace. The force you can get with one of those things in the proper hands... That would smash through any armor. Definitely a good choice. Plus, it would look nice on the mantle. But weapons are for using, paintings are for the mantle. (Just a little in-joke here)
forgot to put my all purpose weapon... i would have to choose a lite saber and if that is considered weapwn then i would choose some sort of mace, maybe even agree with destor and pick the winged mace

That wouldn't necessary smash through all armor, but a mace is a good choice if you rely on shock and impact instead of stabbing and slashing.

That's a good choice. Though, there is quite a delay between shots.
