Fox News does have a history of getting numbers wrong, for example they thought Gore lost the 2000 election. Maybe even after all these years they havent gotten any better. :P

People counting stuff are also notoriously inaccurate. Humans can't count worth a shit, really. Besides, the ATF can still make mistakes. I am always tentative about believing numbers like this.
