And he's 13. Some people are raised in a way that they don't know what alcohol is. Though it is unlikely that he was never taught that wine would make you tipsy so, yeah this is very confusing and I think that this was a retarded question.

He should learn it from outside of the house, than. I don't see how he could not learn it. I mean, parents don't even need to ever drink or say anything about it, he should just know already.
Some places, going outside the house is impossible. Some may be in a community or in circumstances where they could never learn what alcohol is. Obviously he is not in those circumstances so I believe that he should know what alcohol is.
Nearly all of us know what alcohol is. I am talking about us here, not everyone in the world. Some of us probably found out what alcohol exactly was not from out parents, but from somebody else.
Oh, and actually, I think if you drink pure alcohol in very small amounts, i.e under ten milliliters, you might live for awhile, than die from live failure.
Pure alcohol is lethal. It's worse than consuming antiseptic alcohol. Liver failure.
