I am pretty sure multiplication. But it is addition is some cases.

...they are the same thing.

Multiplication is just shortened addition. Instead of adding 13 four times, you just multiply it by 4. You get the same answer either way.

It depends on the numbers

Yes it depends on the numbers...overall it'd be multiplication.

Mostly multiplication but there are some cases where addition is better.

Well.. i think none is.

1x1=1
1+1=2

9x9=81
9+9=18

It depends on the number.

Yeah, but I think we're talking about if the same 2 numbers are added or multiplied.

Multiplying if 2 or above or if both numbers are negatives.

Watch:

-2 x -2 = 4

-2 + -2 = -4

:O You simpletons. (Just kidding)

The creator of this thread was a little unclear, and the wording is a little weird. "which is higher" just sounds weird...

Also, what if it's not just 2 numbers. >_>

5 x 4 x -1 = -20

5 + 4 + -1 = 8

This all depends on the situation.

Addition and multiplications are operations, so no relation can be made between them that shows which one is higher in every possible case.

Here's a riddle: Are there any equations that do not have zero or 1 in them where multiplication is lower than addition?

Easy.

10 x 5 x -2 = -100

10 + 5 + -2 = 13

I've already made this point before.
