I know this probably doesn't belong in here but whatever. For those who blame me on the getting rid of the Rate the whatever above you I'm sorry. Even though I disagree I'm sorry and please forgive me. I was only saying that there were too many of them I didn't mean for them to be locked up and I'm sorry if you think it was me. Please forgive me.

I made the rule because I saw 4, yes 4, rate the above threads in a row, and on the same page another 3 more rate the above threads. I did not lock them because of one or two users who wanted them locked away.

Now look around, doesn't the place seem less cluttered?

To be honest with you, If you deleted them just because they were making things look "cluttered" that is an abuse of your Moderator powers.

Basically what you are doing is not letting people make the threads they want to. What you did was lock a bunch of topics that had the same basic idea, but where about completely different topics. None of them were breaking any rules except maybe they could have been a bit less spammy, but that could have been easily fixed.

Your job as a Moderator is to keep everyone in check and make sure things don't get out of hand. Not to make the forums look "aesthetically pleasing"

The forums were made for the users to converse about different topics, not to look pretty.

No. It's no form of abuse.

Anywhere else on the forums if there is a bazillion threads which are essentially the same thing and attract short answers, they get locked and such.

Popular Media is no different.

Read all the stickies topics here if you get confused. They help a lot. I promise.

Well I was scanning the Tavern, so I wasn't here. Besides, it can't have been your fault.

But the thing is, they aren't the same thing, sure they may have the same format, rating whatever is above you. But I ask you this:

Are movies and music the same?
Are music and books the same?
Is classic rock and heavy metal the same?

The answer is

No

So yeah, they follow the same format, but are COMPLETELY different topics. They were a bit spammy, but that could have been taken care of quickly and cleaned up.

So making the forums &quotretty" is an abuse of moderation powers if it means locking perfectly good topics.

You have nothing to be sorry about. People who get mad at you should be sorry for themselves, because they fail.
