Perhaps new threads could be made. BUT users cannot just give a song, give a reason why they like it, in at least 7 words with no synonyms. And they must not say, 'oh I don't know nuts about the previous song'. They must check up the song if they have not listened to them before. I know this is hard, but some people liked those threads. Maybe this should be in the suggestions sections...Relocate them if required mods...

Noone will do that.

I never, ever post in those threads if I don't know the song/band/whatever. I think these threads will not be coming back, because the AG community cannot handle them.

Thats what we tried, but its just going to be turned down. I think the moderaters have a good reason for getting rid of these threads. I doesn't mean I wanted them gone or I didn't like them.

it would be nice if we could do this nichodemus, as a way for people to introduce others to new songs, bands etc. i just feel that people probably wouldn't change and would continue to do the same as before. there would need to be a way to convince people to put some thought into their posts and actually describe the specific song. saying "it was good" isn't good enough. I've done that before and i feel like im just saying "whatever".

I've done that every time. It's usually the newer users who don't say anything about their choice.

tennisman you hypocrite. You spam all the time because not only does your post have to be over 7 words, but it must actually relate to the topic and add something to it...I see you posting random crap all the time.

Anyways, in my "Review the Classic Rock Song Above You" thread, people basically do this. They post a song AND they post a sentence or two about why they liked it, if you guys are interested in that then you should all check it out. I personally love the music "rate above you" threads because they introduce me to new music and I think I am one of the few people that actually look up the song if I have never heard it.

in my opinion the scourge of the 'rate above' threads are those who write "oh i don't know ht esong/band/etc... but it sounds good so 5/10" in a desperate bid for armor points, and these people WILL NEVER STOP! formal rules can be introduced, but they are hard to enforce without people flagging the rubbish all the time...and even then, it just doesnt work out well... still, the threads last long enough to get some interest most of the time, and there is good stuff in them

Can I use that as a signature?

'tennisman you hypocrite' I love that!

I wish people would take interest in keeping the forums clean, these rate above threads were the most spam filled.

Review and Rate threads share the same concept excpet one requires a little bit more work. I know I sound picky about this but I'm not.

People who see the word "review" in the title will generally think that the thread will require more writing. People who see the word "rate" usualy don't even read the first post. We would not mind having rate the above threads if people wrote more. We just need a way to show everyone that they need to put more time into what they post.
