Just some random idea for the Gazette, probably won't work, but it could go along with the Daily WTF?!
And the Idiot of teh day!1!!!one!!eleven1! award goes to...
Zega! For daring Pazx to make her about really, really, really really really really really really really really, extremely very long. And, she did it. It is now so long it cuts off.
We hope to see more stupidity from both Zega and Pazx in the future! And that's it for today, check out our next edition of Idiot of teh day!1!!!one!!eleven1!
I'm going to lapse from my neutral character for a moment, because at this point I feel that a little investigative journalism (and political activism) might be handy. I'm also going to run the risk of antagonising certain people but I have no apologies to offer for this- because that's what happens in journalism.
I would like to draw your attention to a sequence of events well documented in the forums, but which most users are not likely to take notice of. Let us begin here:
As you can see, this is the thread for the Daily, as written by fst6. On the previous page, Fst6 has featured firetail_madness by publishing an interview with him. On this and the following page, you see firetail_madness attempt to hop on board, but fst6 states that he wishes to keep this an independent operation. Firetail_madness is then solicited by LordLoss and together, on the same thread, they announce plans to start up their own publication. Firetail_madness further uses Fst6's thread to advertise his personal interests. Fst6 promptly capitulates.
Following this, this very thread pops up. On page one, LordLoss adds insult to injury by posting the 6th post on that page.
My guess is that Fst6 knew exactly what was going on. You know how you occasionally hear of what is known, in the corporate world, as a hostile takeover? Well, this is exactly the same thing. With numbers and leverage, any independent corporation or production can be dominated, dismantled and taken over. In this case the currency happens to be AP.
I couldn't help but point this out because it is a perfect example of how the broader capitalist world works. I further assert that if you read this publication or join the team that produces it, you are either too ignorant of events or have implicitly approved of the nature of the activity that led to its founding.
This has a much broader world application: the lesson here is that the so-called social injustices that many of you are now being taught to disapprove of are already learned early, and the inhumanities of man are but a brief extension of our natural actions as children. Be responsible, be discerning and if you happen to be in a position of power or esteem, use it wisely. Not selfishly.
Oh no no, that's hardly my main point! I should qualify some of what I said: sometimes a partnership offer or merger falls through and one ship sinks anyway.
Also, whether or not bandwagon-hopping (which is, in this case, related to hostile takeovers) is a bad thing is not necessarily cut-and-dried. For example, movies, like fashions, tend to be released in waves of similar genres because when one major studio releases something (e.g. Twister, or Antz), another will follow it with something very similar (Typhoon, or A Bug's Life respectively). This is the basis of all competition. In this case the competition never came to fruition because fst6 capitulated, keeping in mind that this is an environment where currently the administration believes that there simply isn't enough room for multiple copies of the same thing going on, so we tend to discourage competition. Meaning that there is only room for co-operation or takeovers.
If we had five times the number of active users it might be a different story.
Alright, so I thought I would take the time to see what actually happened in the past 20 pages or so and like hahaha holy crap guys, that kinda drama is like...
(Well, I was going to say it was almost worse than what you'd find on a furry board but I doubt most of you would get that reference and those of you who do would probably be offended and start fl- I mean...anyway!)
So as far as I can tell, this thread is going to be kept open until everything (paper name and positions) is sorted out, then somebody can ask me to lock the thread so you guys can open up another one and do whatever, right?
