yes, each denomination is different, but they all believe in the same thing, like jesus! the largest way in wich judaism differs from christianity is that christians believe the messiah has already come, they believe in CHRIST, the clue is in the name catholicism is one of the largest denominations of christianity... but christianity is believing in God and his son Jesus Christ, it did NOT come from catholicism!!! BigP08 pretty much covers it! tennisman, if you do not believe in jesus, you are not christian, catholic or otherwise, jesus=christ... christianity.. hmm
It's fine to have different traditions within Christianity, but I don't understand why people hate other Christians for simple traditions, not even their beliefs. It's kind of stupid.
The definition of christian determined in the bible is little christ aka. follower of christ. To be a christian you have to know that Jesus died for our sins and he rose again he was the ultimate sacrifice.
Christianity branched form catholisism. catholisism was one of the fisrt organized religions. there are not many differences between them but for example baptists do not believe that at comunion you are truly eating the body of Christ.
I'll have you know that at Baptist church's we do believe this,
But Catholics believe they have to get Priests to ask God to forgive their sins (Or something like that)
Christians believe that they can talk to God Face to Face because it says in the Bible that when Jesus died the Curtain that hides the Ark from normal people (Not high priest) Got ripped in half and the people gazed upon it, but did not die because Jesus died for us and forgave our sins now we can talk to him Face to Face
Catholics are a sub group (though a very large one) of Christians. Orthodox Christians, Lutherans, Calvinists, Anglicans, Protestants, etc they're all Christians just that the form of Christianity each groups practice varies.
