New high score on level 43 heroic (only 42 waves) 15 billion score 46 million xp. Who knew? My final score multiplier was around 24.8 and my final 2 waves were angered with only lvl 12s up to 250K and 320K per monster.

I finally figured out that I need to get all my mana farm firing at 670 instead of 220. That made a HUGE difference (duh). I'm still learning here so don't laugh. Also since the provided gems are R/Y/L when you make a level 11 random combo (just combine the board) you wind up with a great gem: 279 rate of fire, 450 dmg, 30 splash radius, 24% chance chain hit, and 30% chance triple damage. You couldn't ask for better. It's a great level I would highly recommend it to every one!

I want to send a picture of the last 20 monsters but I don't know how to imbed a png into a post ... anybody with a quick tutorial?

Somebody asked about when GEMCRAFT 2 is coming out a couple of pages back. 3 weeks ago my total cumulative score after doing most of everything (the only amulet I don't have is destroying 1200 shrines) was 18million. Now I beat that on a single level. I think there is still plenty of GEM 0 to go around :-)

I still haven't found the courage to try #45 endurance yet. I want to do it after I have learned a bit more and I can string together a couple (6) hours ( I tried it when I was a newbie and my grand total stands at 3k XP :-)

well munch, you are progressing way faster than anyone else including me if you would find out you have become a deity in GC0, try playing from the start, normal mode only. This is a challenge, and a difficult one. You only have one score per level, no x3's, and the difficulty scales about at the same pace as you gain levels.

In order to include an image in the post, you need to upload it on any image file hosting service (ImageShack, PhotoBucket, etc etc), then grab a direct link from the hosted image and press "Image" button and paste the link. You've done it, but make sure you don't alter this segment.

I try to do the normal mode challenge also. I've defeated the first guardian at level 18(-19). I've got more problems with some other maps.

vesperbot, what do you mean with "beat the storyline to play it"??
I've completed all then nine mode for each battle and the first arcan guardian... but viewing the map I can see the glowing flame only on the battle of the guardian (number #16).

Midiclorian, You have to beat the last level to beat the storyline.

Vesperbot, I don't this was level 18 when i beat the first arcane guardian. I exactly got 14295 xp (+1900 + 200 from amulets) when I've defeated it. But i don't know what level this do.

I've beaten him at level 16 first time (ranked twice), after that I have returned to it at level 20 and got 3k-something. It's hard playing this way, especially after you've accomodated to R/O mana trapping, etc etc

Yes this is difficult. I've not redone any level for the moment(got 2.5K at the first guardian). I wait to be stuck to do that to have a maximum skill points. I'm near the second guardian now.

Lankhr, about "when I got first arcane" I was speaking about playing normal only, when I played the second time I was at level 100+ before I ever tried to beat 1st arcane but that was a sports event, "how much I can earn while being before 1st arcane", it appeared I could go very high, so I abandoned that game.

Arg, you need to be level30 to attack the second guardian !? I'm only level 24. I wonder what level you need for the following guardians ...

AsSto, IIRC they require 40,50,60 respectively. I remember them at Kong say that 5th arcane requires level 60.

ah, gemcraft 0...i use pure gem mastery rather than dual gem mastery. reason: it's easier to keep track of pure gems than dual gems, even though they aren't as strong.

Vesperbot: I accepted the "Norm challenge" - I lost on the first level twice...OK OK three times. But I did get two levels when I beat it :-)

Everything costs too *@#! much and there are no gems to start with and no mana to start with. All is not right with the world. I'm sweating over monster with 22hp and 3armor. I should be able to breath on those and have them fall over. It's MAYHEM I tell you.

I'll see how far I can get tonight after one round of the other game.

Also, I didn't learn that fast I only pirated what you and the other masters have posted. Remember I was STUCK at 18m (did I say that out loud?)

I tried Y/R towers and I think I'm still partial to L/R. They get up to speed faster. Y/R definitely has higher DPS... I guess to justify sticking L/R I should figure out the cost/DPS increase for each to a common DPS ... yeah some other day :-)

Thanks for the picture info. I think what you're saying is to imbed the link (to the web site (photobucket or whatever)) into the post and not the picture itself. I'll try it next time I impress myself :-)

Sorry for the double post: Does anybody understand the mystical "trigger" for a chain hit. Is it distance between monsters? I is it a percentage? a combination of both? I've seen some chains leap as far as maybe 50 and I've seen chains actually chain on one monster so there must be another variable other than distance... thanks

yep munch, it's indeed HARD. I had no difficulty on level #1 and managed to get 3 ranks off it, you don't just build towers and don't forget to wreck those 3 small buildings to get 200 exp but I had to struggle with level #7 (the one with 12 waves, 2 buildings and a very short path and 7 colors of gems) to about 4 defeats in a row, and when I did it I had only 600 exp off it... *sad*

What does chain hit trigger? I expect it does not ever trigger, it throws a chance and if it decides to trigger, then it searches for targets in range of ~50 (was increased with 1.1), and hits any random monster within, including the same one

About L/R or Y/R - well yes indeed, Y/R are the slowest duals that are there. I prefer Y/L to both for towers, but Y/R are the best traps IMO.

...ohh back in time when triples were as powerful as anything else, I liked to play with hues... I had a green R/Y/O, a purple R/Y/B and a red B/G/P that was fun

well i just finished my long game so on with the "norm challenge" but I had to brag first. 66m XP (22b pts) on lvl 47 heroic (41 waves). Hohum. All in a days work:-) All my towers were collecting 7.4 mana per hit so my final score multiplier was 37.8! (756K max manapool). I'm still making mistakes though. I got wimpy at the end because I didn't wan't to mess up a good thing when if I really thinking about my mana was coming in so fast I should have really juiced the last 4/5 waves. Towards the end mana was going up at 26K/frame. I poll the monsters at the wiz tower to make sure their naked (in case I need to add another P/R trap) and to see if their b-costs are getting silly. The highest I saw was 2100. At 26K/frame I figure their banishment would have to be around 12-15K to be a threat and by that time mana would be going up even faster. Next time more aggressive. Live and learn. Maybe with a longer level a 9 figure xp possible? dare to dream hmmmmm...

Sidenote:

some guru a while back pointed out that towers near the wiz tower where ineffective because most of their shots are wasted on monsters that have already disappeared. I had only watched it a million times and never put it together ... another one of my well DUh moments. This is where I usually build my first towers since I want my guests to enjoy the hospitality of the entire farm and de-armoring factory. Now in that inevitable moment of panic when I look up and have 600 monsters in the field and 4 towers and start to build defenses I move those initial gems "down the field" and replace them and all towers within range of the wiz tower with Dual Cyan/your gem of choice. They freeze a target and stick with it until they finish it or it gets away. And even if the the bad guy gets away they retarget after a miss and restart the cycle. Better hit to miss ratio than other towers wasting the space. Thanks for the heads up.
