I believe there should be a preview before you post button, so you can see if the pictures/words form the right design, instead of having to double post in attempt to explain the faults. This might cut down on the double posting.

It will also let users see the syntax of the post, allow them to adjust when needed.

Nice idea! I think I'll foward this one up as it's an alternative to the "edit post" button idea.

This is a great idea. I am a huge fan of preview buttons, and for some reason I always click them! I'd love this!

Seriously, you shouldn't need to DP to correct something.

Also, I've seen this idea a couple of times before...

ooo sorry!, I stopped looking for this topic after page 5, :s

But I think you can, get everything straight with one go, you just have to see how it would look in forum format.

like when trying to make this ascii crown:
\\/\\/\\/
______

it looks fine on the type box, but as you can see.... it's not the case on the forums

you have to end up under compensating the space and practice in your own comments box. so here it is

\\/\\/\\/
___

I hope this will demonstrate the need for a preview button.

I rather have a preview button than an edit one...

1) spammers might change the post
2) idk anymore reasons..
3)...

yea, I agree with the zega, spammers might change posts, which decreases the amount of evidence needed to stop them.

I'm thinking there should be 2 separate buttons, a Preview one and a Submit one, because some forums have it so you preview always before you post, which is helpful, but sometimes just posting is faster. Dunno if this requires moar scripting (i.e. difficult scripting)

yus! Moar Support!

I was thinking of some kind of Grammar support feature too, because Firefox can only catch spelling errors.
Even if they can spell correctly,I no wanted people talked to me liking this.

Firefox can only catch spelling errors.

To be exact, you have to download a special add-on.

Exactly what I was thinking. It would fit a nice ol' Preview button there. And it wont be hard to script at all. I don't think or hope so.

Yeah, apparently BOTH preview and edit ideas are forwarded on a regular basis but I'm a bit amnestic right now.

The site developers updated the code last month such that it should run the same on IE and Firefox now.
