i think Obama mostly because the majority of voters wanted him to be president which was proved by the presidential election

hmm come to think of it he won mostly because people thought it would be best if we had a democratic president, after having a republican in for so long

That was a major part of it, but I think that it was reasonable to vote for Obama because he's a democrat. The republicans had their chance and they screwed up a lot of things.

The very simple reason why obama won is that he spoke well, and the things he said sounded good... but I DON'T TRUST HIM!!!!

I really hope it wasnt because he was black...

Speaking well is a characteristic of becoming a good president. As he is needed to pitch policies and address (calm) the nation in the time of need.

That's true, I think Royadin meant that he deceived people into thinking he knew what to do. I think he had somewhat of an idea, but I'm not sure how overall prepared he is.

I doubt it. Racists don't have the patience to come onto forums and have civil discussions with people accross the aisle. I hope not too, though.

Barack Obama was America's obvious choice. He spoke with intelligence, patience, and understanding to the nation. He spoke of our future with determination, and continued to encourage all people, whatever our dilemma was.

Now taking all this into consideration... he seemed like he would be a wonderful president, the fact that he lived middle-class was appealing to us, because it showed he could relate to citizens.

McCain on the other hand, didn't show any recognition to the war, and in fact stated that he agreed with Bush on many levels. Which is a contradiction, because Bush didn't do jack, while McCain supposedly would.

Also the fact that he didn't know how many houses he had!? What sort of political stunt is that!

We'll see what sort of democracy Barack Obama provides, I truly wanted him as commander in-chief, but I hope he delivers.

yes

I think he says a bunch of nothing very well.

And I don't trust him not because he is black... got nothing against black people.

I just think that he really is not what the press makes him out to be...
