Which class are you? I used a cold hydro and it was one of the easiest fights in the zone, but that's just because freeze-lock (using Mind Freeze/Flash Freeze to permanently prevent an enemy from using focus skills) works well against the Mayor.
Z7 shows up when you beat Z5 on heroic and unlocks when you beat Z6. And yes, the awesome armor is awesome. My speed bio now has 662 speed (instead of the old max of 463), and I'm not even sure if I've found all the max speed gear.
@DDX:I can give you a general build, but in several spots I had significant difficulty and had to alter the build.
As I said, I (mostly) played a cold hydro:
Equipment: Obviously, go for instinct boosting stuff, but be sure to have decent vitality as well.
Stats: All points in instinct, except occasionally when you need just a bit more HP (but only for specific battles).
Skills: This section is more difficult, as I had no set build for the whole game. You will be forced to adapt, especially in Z5.
In general though, it looks something like this: 4/4 Mind Freeze 4/4 Flash Freeze 1/4 Ice Wall* 4/4 Dead Man's Plea 4/4 Glacier 4/4 Cold Neurology 5/5 Crystal Ice
*I occasionally invested more points in Ice Wall when I needed more support.
I also used Regulate several times, mostly to dispel powerful buffs.
Skill Bar: Again, subject to change over the game, but usually: 2x Flash Freeze 2x Mind Freeze 1-2x Glacier 1-2x Dead Man's Plea 1-2x Ice Wall
A couple fights gave me a lot of trouble: Captain Hunt Riot Police/Riot Police/Android Blood Hound/Blood Hound/Specialist
For these fights, I had to switch to more of a hot hydro, though for the second two I remember I also had to keep my support for Dux (Ice Wall/Dead Man's Plea). I think there might've been a few others, but I can't remember.
Some tips: -Respec after the first battle. It's the cheapest respec in the game and lets you get those 19 free attribute points early. -Turn autosave off. Sometimes money can get tight if you're forced to respec too much, so you don't want to accidentally save a bad respec. Just be sure to manually save often. -If you know how, keep a copy of your save somewhere else and update it occasionally. This will let you go back a bit if you get too stuck.
Are you asking for proof that I've actually beaten Z6/Z7 and have the armor I say I have? Other than the picture of the achievements (the last of which is "Beat the final boss" and the stage indicator in the bottom?
Well, Z6 has four enemies, unless I'm forgetting one: Metal Warden, The Bomb, the weird beast thing (I can't remember its name, but it's orange and drops armor modeled after the ice piercing armor from Z4), and the Judge. The shop has 5 items, 4 of which definitely complete the sets of armor that those enemies drop (I'm not sure about the rifle). The training zone has a cycling background and only one opponent, 2x Peace Keeper.
My current equipment is: Velocious Helm Velocious Armor (both of these come from the Z7 shop) Azure Grips (drop from the Judge) Tempo Legplates (drop from that beast thing) Corvette Boots (drop from Metal Warden) Flame Katana (drop from the 3rd boss of Z7, which is a fire samurai (i.e. orange, +fire piercing gear) who is basically the opposite of the ice samurai (the Sensei?) in Sonny 1.)
I'm not sure what else I can tell you besides the rest of the bosses of Z7. I'd take more pictures, but I'm on the wrong operating system and don't really have any more time right now.
