In my High-School, im a freshmen. I live in a town with like a 98% white majority, so theres no gang activity or nothing of that sort. Anyways, fights are constantly happening. Even if one guy was only fighting out of self defense. My school has this "0 tolerance" policy. Shouldn't people have a right to defend themselves in certain situations? A few years back I got suspended for pushing a person...its that ridiculous. My friends have even gotten detentions for speaking their mind. (in a respectful way, of course)
So I want to know what some people's opinions are on the topic, and if you know of any places that also relate to the stupid policy.
I believe there were also Irish too. They were considered the "weaker" race in the isles. Branching from the animosity most of them form gangs.
The part of London I went to school in didn't have a large Irish population. The biggest Polish and Eastern European job centres and estates were round the corner, so their presence was much more heavily felt.
Most Irish gangs in London are derivations of the IRA, getting their $ from drugs and extortion. The recent influx of Eastern Europeans has pushed them out of business and their organisations are much smaller now. There certainly weren't many in my area.
Teachers love to say "This is not a democracy, this is a dictatorship." Schools are supposed to be strict, you know how many liabilities that are in a school? Schools are just protecting their own butt so you can't blame them.
