Yes, we all heard of 2012. Nobody believes it. They say the world will end, but what will happen when it doesn't.

PLZ PLZ PLZ do not talk about the end of the world, there's other threads for that. Talk about the human reactions to this "lack of events"

Probably like "y2k". Everybody who believed it will either get really agressive when questioned about what they're gonna do with their tanks of water and dehydrated meals or just lie and pretend they weren't expecting anything.

Ha lol good topic. Yep they'll either deny they thought it or just be a bit depressed and come up with a new prediction for the end

I honestly don't know what they'll do. I mean, I'm not saying they're insane, they might be right, but I just don't see how we could accurately predict that when even the weather predictions are wrong every once in a while. These guys might accept that they're wrong. Or they might lose their minds and... I'm actually more scared of them being wrong now! (jk, I don't want to die)

It'll be on the news, just like the year 2000, when people believed that computers would shut-down, and things would go chaotic. Though, the world isn't going to end just because some lame Indian calender ended in 20012..

Well actually - funny thing about 2012 and that particular doomsday story. The date was originally in 2008. Of course, 2008 rolled over & it never happened, so the proponents of the idea postulated that they 'miscalculated' - they couldn't be more correct. So, they pushed back the date to 2012 for.. whatever reason they could cook up.

Same old thing. They'll either abandon the idea and feel like an idiot, or they'll keep pushing the date back.

Heheh.

Hopefully the first one. I get really sick of people saying the world will end soon. When the time comes, I doubt anyone will have actually picked that day.

the reason everyone was afraid was because all the computers were programmed for 2 digit years of the 1900-1999 ('96, '72, etc.) so when it would reach 2000 it'd be '00 which the computer thinks it's 1900... the worst that actually did was mess up a few credit cards.

I don't think anything will happen because I don't think anyone is worried about it.

They are going to realize how idiotic they were, shut up for 2 months, then pick a new date and start the charade all over again.

A lot of people will be surprised, but soon people will forget about it and start predicting the end of man kind to be a later date. The prediction of the "end of the world" (even though that doesn't make sense, the ends of humans is not the end of the world. Jeez we're conceted (sp?)) has been a normal practice since the beginning of time.

Well, normal lives of course, and we would know that the Mayan Calendar was incorrect, well parts of it. But yes, we would go back to our normal lives and be very exited I believe, many News lines will go out. Know one knows yet, just wait and find out.

I know dude, I'm saying people thought that our "technology driven ways" were gonna destroy us all when the computers stop working and blah blah blah.
