In the end, Hitler "officially" lost the war. However what would you call wiping out millions and millions of people? In my opinion, Hitler himself won a great personal victory. Discuss.

Note: I am not a Nazi, and no I don't hate Jews (I have Jewish relatives).

First off, I see you're fairly new to the forum but the best way to set up your titles would be without swearing (I don't care but some people get touchy about it) and not using terms like pwn when it comes to an atrocity like the Haulocost.

Anyway, I would say overall he lost, before he pulled that stunt the jews didn't have their own nation, now they do. Also, Germany may have been getting spat on by the world after WW1 but atleast it belonged to them. His actions caused the invasion that tore it in half. So I would say that he lost the war in every sense I could possibly think of.

I suppose you could call it a personal victory, seeing as how we never brought him to justice either, he committed suicide and avoided that fate. I can see your point and it kinda stinks thinking that he might have gotten at least something that he wanted. But in the end the best thing for the rest of the world was to have him gone, so we gotta be happy with that.

That was my point about jews having their own nation now though. He did them a favour. After all the horrible killing stopped the ones left standing ended up even better off.

First of all, to all the people who are (in my opinion) oversensitive to swearing, in the words of Mr. T, '"GETS SUM NUTS FOO!!!", swearing is an integral and often overlooked part of the English language. (Note that i censored it...)
Secondly, this usage of &quotwn", it just seemed to flow with the statement. I suppose decimated would have been better... but i didn't think about it then...
And yes, it is an atrocity but it is sorta true that he [s]pwned[/s] decimated the population.
Anyway, he did "officially" lose and cause Germany a lot of pain after he suicided, but think of it this way.. one man, just one man, in the world of billions, causes the death of, millions of people, millions, just one man.

ah crap when i said-

...it is sorta true that he [s]pwned[/s] decimated the population...

i thought that html would work on this forum, and "s" makes the text have a line through it... so it should have looked like i crossed out &quotwned" and replaced it with "decimated. We need a preview/edit button!

Well, he got a nervous breakdown at the end, shot himself after eating cyanide, saw all his dreams shattered (except exterminating Jews), had his generals tried to assasinate him. I hardly deem WWII as a victory for him. His main objective wasn't wiping Jews out, if so he could start a genocidal rampage without a war.

Just one man, in the world of billions, causes the death of, millions of people, millions, just one man.

It's unfair to say Hitler alone was responsible. The Treaty of Versailles was a factor for one. To me Hitler was a genius and a maniac. He turned Germany around ( well in a way), but started a hideous war.

To round it up, before he died he said something along the lines that he took 6 million Semites to the grave with him. But he was a broken man when he died.

Just my opinion. Title is too long, you could put it in the description. Yes I know others said it too.

I'd be inclined to agree with you there. When you look at many of his policies towards the end of the war, it's quite clear that Nazi ideology was his top priority.

The Final Solution is the most important thing I have bequethed to Germany

- Adolph Hitler

However he didn't succeed. He killed, approximately, 6 of Europe's 11 million Jews. The ultimate plan was for Operation Barbarossa to be a success, expand the Reich to the Ural mountains and deport around 30 million 'undesirables' to Siberia, so in that sense he was a failure.

The grammar in that sentence nearly made me bite into a cyanide capsule and shoot myself in the mouth with a Walther PPK.

He still succeeded to a great extent but i agree that he did not achieve what he wanted to (what he wanted to achieve was a very high expectation, he aimed for the stars and fell short, but he still hit the moon).

First off thats not HTML,its BB Code, and second off they are not going to enable all BB Code tags on this site, many of these are not enabled for reasons. Others I believe just have not been implemented. Strike through is one of those codes that can be used to annoy people to death basically. Now back to the topic...

to tell you the truth even though he managed to kill millions of Jews, his objective was to kill all of them. This did not happen so he did not achieve that goal by all technicalities. I could go into detail about this, but am in a hurry, so I may have to come back to this later.

I changed the title not only because it contained swearing but because people may find the title offensive. Not to say that I haven't heard worse (for example, somebody once couldn't think of any better way to say it except "...how come the Jews are God's people and Hitler, like, totally GG'd them...&quot but since this is a public forum etc. etc. I see it fit to keep things a little politically correct.

As to whether there was a personal victory involved or not, well. Hitler's dead. How important is his personal victory to us? How important is that, compared to the developments and the mark it has left on history for the rest of us?

Alright, you too Xav.

I believe, it was in some ways, an accomplistment no less to Hitler. But he didn't finish his original gigantic masterplan. He didn't wipe out all the Jews in Europe, let alone the world for instance. So partially a failure.

Over 11,000,000 people died from the holocaust I believe, 1 million were children.

He succeeded in ending disabled, sick, Jewish, and different peoples' lives. In the end, he committed suicide, because he knew he lost. If he knew he lost, well then he obviously didn't win the war.
