That's going to be your problem... Our religion has many rumors...that are all wrong. You're not going to get truth from anyone other than members. You should talk to your parents about looking into the religion again. The worst they could say is no. That's how I converted, by the missionaries.
In the other threads, you'll find information on some of the polygamist sects. My brother and I had done some research as well as having some first-hand experiences.
As I have said in the past, I'm not going to answer questions just to get my head bitten off. If you're sincere, I'll go ahead and answer.

For all you guys bugging Snakebite: what the hell? Why are you all bugging him about his religion? Everyone's religious beliefs have something that sounds ridiculous about them. And atheism is believing that nothing we do on earth will change our after-life, so I'm not sure why you try so hard to insult and degrade other religions anyway. Doesn't matter, does it? I'm not a Mormen, but bringing up stereotypes on a religion is offensive anyway and adds nothing to this forum. Grow up.

By that claim anyone could say whatever they want about themselves. If someone finds evidence that a government official is corrupt, do they only need to say no to be believed that they are innocent? I can understand if the rumors are just rumors, but saying your going to get straight facts from the group that's being accused and who wouldn't want information like this getting out, can you really expect them to be the only honest ones? I don't have a problem with Mormons, but I do have a problem with your logic....

Not sure if this was directed at me personally, but my response applies either way -
Well.. DarkLadyRaven did make the post with the intention of asking people what they thought. These people are voicing those opinions, including myself.
Hmm.. Well, that means you must believe that Christianity is a lie.

Okay, but still, respectful debate. I don't think I was referring to you, but still, there was a lot of unnecessary Mormen-bashing that added nothing to the discussion.

No, I'm neither clergy nor an active missionary. Our church doesn't have paid clergy, it's all volunteer. As for missionaries, all members are responsible for being examples of our faith. Young men, between the ages of 19 and 25 go on a mission for two years. Young women between the ages of 21 and 25 have the same opportunity. Missionaries don't have access to forums like this, so you'll never find one on. I was born Protestant, but I've spent time in many churches including; Methodist, Baptist, Seventh-Day Adventist, Church of Christ, Episcopal etc. I've been searching for a church that had all the answers to my stupid questions, the LDS Church was the only one that could answer all of them. We would appreciate not being abused for our faith, thanks guys (and girls)!
Mormons believe alot of what christians do but they are stricter in many ways. Also if any of you are wondering poligamy is no longer part of their religion.
Things like how can there be three separate beings in one person (trinity)? Where do people go if they never heard the gospel? Do they go straight to hell? Why were there prophets in past times, but not now? And a few other ones. I got in trouble by asking some of these. Clergy told me that I asked too many questions for my own good, I should just have more faith, it's all just a mystery. I was never told this at the LDS Church, they answered all my questions with things that actually made sense.
Your trinity answer is complicated to explain. I and most or all people cant grasp that concept, its too advanced for our minds to understand. Scriptures arent really clear on some things. Think of a three leaf clover i guess, 3 leafs, but all 1.
You got in trouble for asking questions? by a minister? Where did you go?
