It's also impolitic to start your post insinuating that all people agree with your point of view, when clearly, they don't.
The price is so high due to the obscenely high development costs & Sony is trying to recoup some of their expenses by passing that price off to their customers.
What they should do, is bring the price into range with some of the other systems so that the $ tag will at least be comparable, and will appeal to some of the less... hardcore Sony fans. I kind of doubt they will though; the last few years of Sony management have seemed rather arrogant and self-righteous, despite the failure it's had financially in comparison to the other available consoles on the market currently.
First of all, the ps3 price is high because of all the graphics and machinery in it. It also takes the most energy in your house hold.
Second, the ps3 is the best and thats probably why its so da*n expensive. Even the games are expensive. Thats how Playstaion Creators do it.
And also maybe because of financial crisis problems. But i do think that if the price is lowered more people would buy but PS would still earn more. Because if the ps3 price would be lowered then no one would miss the oppurtunity to have a PS3.
PS3 really needs to lose at least $80. I don't put much stock in graphics, as I still like older games. So the PS3 doesn't seem much better than the 360 to me. I like the achievements and XboxLive for the 360 too.
Yeah Sony is cracked for keeping the price so high.
Meh i have a PS3 yeah its expensive but think of this the money you save on the ps3 is used on either xbox 360 repairs 3 so far and xbox live membership and then microsoft points for either maps gamertag change, you name it xbox 360 will charge you for all this.
ELdave88 is right. the only additional costs for PS3 are expansion packs (e.g resistance) and electrical bills, which dont really count as the power your PS3 uses is about the same as an Xbox
Get a jobs and save or just get parant to pay for it and if you cant do that buy a 360 its good and if you cant do that then get a wii and if you cant do you need to get out of the cardboard box and earn a living.

The first night the PS3 came out, someone put it on eBay for sale, it got up to the Five-thousands, if I remember correctly.
Working the angle on supply & demand is a great way to make a profit; I have a buddy who did that when it came out. The problem with the PS3 pricing currently is that it's still priced as if there is a high demand for the system.. and there isn't.
When there's not enough of a product & everyone wants one no matter what - you can charge whatever you want and people will pay it. When there's a lot of the product available and not everyone is interested, you're going to do poor sales numbers if the price is high.
well I dunno.. Like at least sony is making money off there systems. Xbox is selling theres under the price it cost them to make it... So for every unit they sell they are losing money, which is pretty risky cuz the only thing that they are making money off is the games. I dont mind the price issues that much, like honestly ur asking for 80$ off... Its not that hard to get $80. Thats under one days work for me. I gotta say thow it wouldn't hurt sony to drop the prices, economies doing bad atm, so i dont think many ppl would want to buy a ps3...
