To mods or admins: This has to do with religion so I think it belongs here. If it doesn't tell me where it should go, please, or move it.
The thing is... I don't know what to believe in.
My history: I was raised as a Roman Catholic. I started reasearching different religions I don't know how long ago. I'm fine with lesbian/gay relationships and I'm willing to hear anything you'll tell me. If you want to know more about the beliefs I have now, ask me.
I know I want to believe in a diety, and I'm pretty sure I want to remain a Christian. But I'm open to other ideas as well. I'm just asking that you tell me about your religion so I can get more information.
@Snake: First of all, you didn't put *gay* in the speech bubble. Second of all, you wouldn't laugh because no descendants of humanity would come. You'd actually be f*cked. Lastly, this thread is a mature discussion about what religion someone should take. Put this in a Christianity vs Atheism thread as a joke, not somewhere where somebody wants to find their faith. That's insulting and serves no purpose on this thread.
Buddhism always fascinated me... but i don't like the idea of dietys...
Depends on what school of Buddhism you're after. Those who are more into a philosophy of mind would go after Buddhist philosophy (like Zen) as opposed to ritualistic Buddhist worship that proliferated through the giant melting pot of South-East Asia. I have no idea what you'd be praying to there, but as my mother tells me, some of it is downright scary.
@DarkLady Raven: Hmm. You may have to explain this in greater detail. First commandment says not to have any gods besides God, but since Jesus is God, they are one. Personally, I think God simply is. Even though we say *he*, I don't think God possesses a gender. It just seems easier to refer to him that way. If you mean something like Guadalupe, like in Mexico, then maybe you're just treating her as more of a saint. If it's something else, maybe elaborate a bit more (my profile or here is fine). I'll try to explain the best I can.

well people say, god the father? usually fathers are men, I mean I don't know how else would you think otherwise. Also an interesting note god had "spiritual" sex with Mary (mother of Christ) Now if two women can do that and have children... welll.... I dont know O-O

Woah, now that's a literal interpretation. It'd be pretty crazy though, like all those Greek legends of that hornball Zeus turning into various forms (like a swan or a river of gold or god-knows-what-else) so he could seduce ladies by preying on their weaknesses.
The bible says you would be persecuted if you add stuff to the bible.

People do think of him as a father, but even so, why would God have a gender? If God can do anything, he wouldn't have a definite gender. He could take a form and have a gender in that form. Also, he asked Mary if she would carry a child for him and she said yes. I wouldn't call that spiritual sex. I'm not saying God is a woman either, I'm saying God isn't either.
