This thread while hold competitions to see which band AG likes the most. You vote on which of the following band is better and why. Then, I will add all of the votes and see which band is better.
RULES 1.You can only vote one time 2.Do not spam (duh). 3.Do not complain if the band you want to win loses
Please keep this clean and I will try to pick bands that people know of.
The first battle will be between.... Kiss and Aerosmith
@Riptizoid101 That's what the five example songs for each band are there for. And did you only know of Future of the Left because I posted them on "Right now I'm listening to..."?
Votes without sufficient reasoning have been excluded. @sonicfan101, your votes will not be counted because just saying the names of the bands you vote for is not enough reasoning. @Riptizoid101, the vote for Kaiser Chiefs was counted, but it's borderline. Obviously saying "I only know of one of the bands" is not a passable excuse when there are links to the songs, which probably did actually link somewhere in 2014.
Anyway, here's the first battle of 2015, metal from the 70s/80s.
Iron Maiden

War Pigs

Iron Man

You only get 3 each from now on, but you can click on the videos and watch them directly from the site now. At the end of the battle, I will be counting the number of the votes, but I'm already paranoid that some of you will not provide reasoning. Anyway, vote.
Musically speaking this is a very difficult decision. Both are legends and I like to listen to both bands. Ultimately, I prefer Iron Maiden's faster, more melodious style. Dio ("Heaven and Hell") gets an honorable mention for being a better singer than both Ozzy and Bruce combined .
...besides this i has to say: i had the doubtful pleasure to meet Bruce Dickinson several times... and i really don't like him.
I don't know either one, but after this comment of yours I went to Bruce's wiki article and read about the so-called Ozzfest incident, which to be honest doesn't speak in favour of the Osbournes either.
Iron Maiden was my favorite band for a while back when I was into this kind of music. Comparing them now, I would still put Iron Maiden ahead of Sabbath for being more upbeat and not having as many slower songs that go on for longer than they need to. I have always liked both bands, though, so it is a close vote.
Whoa, it's back! And with bands I've actually heard!
It's not easy to choose... they both have awesome guitar playing with great lead singers and catchy memorable songs! In the end, I'll pick Iron Maiden on the grounds that they make me want to get up and dance, and I'm a get up and dance kind of person! But "Paranoid" made even that particular choice tough, so it's almost too close to call... but Iron Maiden still wins my vote this round!
Bruce Dickinson set to launch own airline
Lol... he's serious about all kinds of heavy metal! =P
Listened to both bands a lot, always liked Sabbath a bit better. To me it always sounded like blues musicians playing hard rock, which made me want to listen to them even more.
We'll go back a decade or two for the next battle to some of rock 'n' roll's founding fathers. Both musicians are so influential that you get four example songs instead of three this time.

B. Goode and Hit the Votes (Jack) Those of you who will not vote...
Both Ray and Chuck were ahead of their time with the songs they wrote and performed on their signature instruments. I would put Ray slightly ahead only because he is a better singer and his songs are more distinct from one another. Another very close vote, though.
Both of these legends were ground-breaking and paved the way for the music of the current artists. Where Ray Charles was a charmer with his smooth melodies and catchy tunes, Chuck Berry was a wild Rock-'n'-Rolla fella that always boosted the crowd with his driving tempo and slick guitar riffs. Not to mention his double-meaning and naughty-ness often hidden in his lyrics!
Man... this is a darn hard choice here @Ernie15... errr...
I still prefer Chuck Berry's rock and roll sound and the way he created a platform for the Rock and Metal bands of these days. I do like Ray Charles a lot allright, I just... well... like Chuck Berry a little better! Heh...
Meh vote... Chuck Berry! Hail, hail, Rock and Roll!!!
Mmm, quite difficult to choose between these two groundbreaking artists, who played such a major role in the music field.
So while both make outstanding music that I listen quite often, my vote goes to Chuck Berry. That rock & roll sound and, basically, the guitar riffs are out of this world. They're just awesome and keep amazing me after all these years.
Chuck is the original rock guitarist and still one of the best ever. Without him, we wouldn't have some of the great rock bands from the 70's. Ray is also highly influential, but for me it's an easy vote for Chuck.
