This thread while hold competitions to see which band AG likes the most. You vote on which of the following band is better and why. Then, I will add all of the votes and see which band is better.
RULES 1.You can only vote one time 2.Do not spam (duh). 3.Do not complain if the band you want to win loses
Please keep this clean and I will try to pick bands that people know of.
The first battle will be between.... Kiss and Aerosmith
I would put Ray slightly ahead only because he is a better singer and his songs are more distinct from one another.
I agree with this, Ray did have a stronger voice and he did take a less formulaic approach to songwriting. Ray can sing as well as he can play, and he doesn't duplicate his melodies.
Johnny B. Goode is still one of the greatest songs ever, even if Mark Campbell sings it better in Back to the Future.
I had hoped for a greater turnout for two of the most influential artists in rock 'n' roll history, but six countable votes is better than last round's five.

Everyone, come together. I want to count your votes. If I don't receive enough, I'll have my 19th nervous breakdown, so you'll want to vote before I make you run.
Remember to provide reasoning for your votes, or else they won't be counted.
Oh, again two iconic bands which had a huge impact on the whole musical scene. Besides, they were part of my childhood and their songs were always playing at home. It's such a tough battle :O
Anyway, I'm voting for The Beatles. For some reason, their sound seems to stick to me a little bit more. It's slightly more appealing, so to speak. Don't get me wrong, The Stones made amazing songs that I really like, while others... well, let's just say I'm just not interested. However, this doesn't happen with The Beatles as I like pretty much everything they made and that's why they win by a tiny bit.
Both of these great bands have a massive collection of music, and I will probably never hear most of the lesser known songs by either band. Since I must choose one based on what I have heard in my lifetime, The Beatles have more variety in their selection of music. They have their own sound, but they also have many different sounds within that sound.
Both iconic bands deserve their due amount of respect, but for me The Beatles win it from The Rolling Stones, simply because the music they make appeals to me more over the Stones'... There are a few great songs I like from the Stones, but somehow I like every song by The Beatles (except one or two), whereas I only truly like a few from The Rolling Stones. And that's where my vote is based upon, as their historical impact and value to modern day music is almost equal.
What can ya say?! It's just a 'Hard Day's Night' 'Yesterday'... so I just 'Let It Be', 'Get Back' to 'Help' 'Michelle' and tell her to 'Love Me Do' as I want to 'Come Together'. Because 'All You Need Is Love', so even though I 'Can't Buy Me Love', I can still remember when I said to her 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' when 'I Saw Her Standing There' that night, right?
Definitely the Beatles. The Rolling Stones cannot possibly compete against their iconic status. 5 of their albums are classics that are so good, and the covers are some of the most parodied. An urban legend was created saying Paul McCartney died and the Beatles covered up his death! That's how big a deal they are. My vote is definitely on The Beatles.
I'm from Liverpool originally and even I like the Stones better. Beatles are great, Stones cater more to what I like. Their music has an edge, not dark, but possibly dangerous.
If we would need to vote on personality of the lead singer, R.E.M. would win this by a mile over Bono! But since this is about music... I have to admit that even though R.E.M. made some awesome songs, they somehow never stick for me (other than Losing My Religion, but that's probably because they played it on the radio for about a ga-zillion times now)... U2 on the other hand have a sound that has always appealed to me. It all started with the first time I heard "I Will Follow" in all its raw glory back in the days... ever since I was hooked on this great band with a unique form of music making. As I've mentioned before, let's leave the lead singer out of this, as they started of phenominal with a 'save-the-earth' type of propaganda, but they soon lost their ways.
Anywho, I still prefer U2 over R.E.M. any day, so that's where my vote goes to! @Ernie15The thread title has been updated!
I'm sorry, you appear to have missed Hüsker Dü out, which is a horrible and glaring omission given the genre and era we're looking at. Much better than those poncy gits.

As for the two you initially put on, REM makes me want to vomit slightly less. So them.
Since this is revived with a vote for the bands in the OP, rather than the last battle that was going on... and the fact that it was dead since 2015, I'm locking it. If we find someone who wants to actively run it again, please contact me on my profile page @MrDayCee ...
