IN America these two things are the the leading topics in the industry. Nudity however is taken more as a bad think and graphic violence not so much, do you think this is right
Graphic violence is not something I like in a movie. . .in video games, it's different, but I don't like graphic violence in movies. I'm prefectly fine with nudity in movies, however. In video games, I'm fine with graphic violence. However, I've never played a game with full-on nudity in it, because it seems pointless. Each one has it's place in media. Each are equally good or bad depending on said media.
Love both. Err, meaning that I don't actually "love", it's just that-- oh you know what I mean!!
Violence is just the muse of American life. We live, see, and hear it everyday. When you listen to the news do you perk up when you hear "Movement established for the sole purpose of giving homeless puppies a new home", or "Suicide bombing kills 100, injures 500 more" (big bomb)? I would most definitely head over to the TV and go "seriously??", because hurtful, horrific things is what we as humans want to see, whether it is bad or not.
As for nudity, I don't know. I mean, some of it is art, like the statues you see in ornate chapels, museums, theatres, whatever. Others could be seen in real life and animated, like in the Watchmen.
The thing is, the reason why we guard children from graphic, sexual, or what they hear from, is because they are going to imitate it, and you know it. They can get mentally scarred from it, like how you hear from past reminiscence.
People use violence and partial nudity in television, because again, it's our muse. We love it, and, if used in television, some of us might be stupid enough to buy it for the sake of the fact that the woman is holding it. Some commercials in the superbowl use violence, and it turns into a comedy afterwards, which even I love. It's great, I bust a gut, because most of them are actually funny. It's all how you interpret it to see if these things are horrible or not. I just gave you my 2 cents about it.

If it is part of the culture originally children will most likely not be scarred by it. In the US we see violence just about everyday. Whether it be on TV, the internet, or unfortunately in real life. It only scars us if we see it in real life, but not on television or the internet.
In Germany it is the opposite of the US, they are open about nudity, but violence is considered horrible. Again, you don't see them being scarred by nudity in commercials and such.
It's just how you are being raised, what is accepted in your culture.
i go with violence seeing someone getting killed is better then seeing someone naked. i just think nudity is digustsing.... well i'm just 11 if that helps and i guess im sounding immature O:
Have you ever watched anything die? Animals maybe? I once watched my fish die, it was absolutely horrible. Flailing around, spasms, darting back and forth, etc. I couldn't even imagine the horror of watching a human die. Nudity is not nearly that bad, some would say it's not bad at all. Like I said in my last post, it's all part of your culture.
I don't get how a movie like Saw is only rated R, but a movie with only three F-bombs in it or even a bared breast is also raised to R. There's a degree where they can't be equivalent.
Anyways im not really sure what to say about this...I certainly do think violence is glorified like said earlier. With all the movies that represent them :Fight club, Never back down, Fighting (that and never back down are to really good ones in my opinion)
As for nudity...People gettin upset because of why? Nudists partys? Naked people in streets? Porn?
I was born in Europe and there people just look at the human body as a beautiful thing. I think we should start doing things that way. Ohh, a female body, look at it. No, it is just a natural thing that is beautiful and shouldn't be explioted
