A recent study has shown that out of thirty industrialized nations America is ranked twenty fourth. if we are not as well educated than are rivals, how are we to stay as a superpower that can contend with countries such as China?
well we may lack education but we are a major superpower in general. if there were to be a nuclear war, it would be between china, US, and russia. we have some of the most nuclear missiles in the world. other countries may have missiles, but they are short range and they probably only have about ten when we have like 5,000. if we were to have a nuclear war with pakistan, we may take some damage, but pakistan would be a desert with a plaque that reads "Here is the land that once was Pakistan... now an irradiated piece of land."
Well... the point is that while our education declines other countrys, such as China, education increases. this means if their smarter than us they will overtake us.
Maybe thats because of all the illegals, kids who just dont care, and the nations un inteligency. We do, of course just like any other country, have smart people. But in america, were free to do what ever we want. As in china, im pretty sure they spend most of their time studying, jsut like most other asian kids
Honestly our form of government is the best in the world, although we are in depression the system is one of the best, and we have always had better trained troops, so I would consider us a superpower. I would say education is a big part, but China is not learning the same stuff as us, so keep in mind that a big part of us and them is what we learn, and how our education system works.
Your education system is pretty poor compared to other developed nations. For examples of great education look at most Scandanavian countries like Nortway for example, then look at the US.

That's a pretty dubious assumption. Most likely thermo-nuclear war on that scale would mean the end of mankind.

Only a couple teachers that i had in high school actually tried to teach us things and didn't just teach what was in the textbook. The lessons we had were so generalized that thinking back its really sad. For example, i remember my junior year in world cultures we learned about Africa. The teacher told us that Africa had a giant desert the Sahara, there was a big lake called lake victoria, then had us memorized the countries in Africa and we finished off the Africa unit by watching some retarded movie about a black and a white kid in south africa during apartheid and how they had some stupid boxing match and then it didn't matter they were different colors like i said retarded movie. Anyway all that took about 4 or 5 days of which the movie took up 2 and that was what i learned about Africa. All i really remember from that is there's 61 or so countries in Africa and a cat named de klerk ended apartheid in '89 everything else i know about Africa i learned outside of school. The really sad thing is that i went to one of the best public high schools in western Pennsylvania.
