i think it really depends on which one you perfer for certain games since many people wish that games that were first to be third and vice versa.

I like first person better. It's more realistic.

I prefer first person simply because it's more realistic, like you are actually that person.

I prefer 3rd person because some of the best games I played were 3rd person like hitman blood money. Some games just word better in either perspective.

It depends on the games, look at the CoD series very successful first person games! but look at GTA and GoW both successful third person games! So it really depends on how the companies make the game and what type of game it is

I prefer first person, and imagine halo 3 in third person? It wouldn't work too well and would mess up the turning and general combat.
