Black Sabbath, hands down. Pantera's a pretty good band, but Black Sabbath are one of the pioneers of heavy/doom metal.

Sabbath. Pioneers of their genre, and generally a bit better technically and creatively than Pantera.

Wow, that is definitely stealing my idea. Dude who cares like he said it was classic rock this is metal heads like me.

I'm personally a big fan o both bands but I'm gonna have to say Sabbath, pioneers of metal, but some Pantera songs (like Cowboys from He11, or Walk) really get me head-banging.
