By now, most of you know me and how I like to discuss and debate religion.
I've read a book called The New Believers and it discusses alternative Christian religions.
This is the link here (basic information on the book anyway): [url=http://libnt2.co.st-johns.fl.us:81/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=1242311R3P528.793941&rofile=dial&source=~!horizon&view=subscriptionsummary&uri=full=3100001~!196361~!1&ri=1&aspect=subtab83&menu=search&ipp=20&spp=20&staffonly=&term=Alternative+Religions&index=.GW&uindex=&aspect=subtab83&menu=search&ri=1&limitbox_1=LO01+%3D+se#focus]
It had a small section on a group called Jesus Army and it didn't say very much about it. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this group and I'm also willing to turn this into another debate/discussion. Other information on them is appreciated.
First of all, you should've said: Religions all suck. Hail Satan. Hail chaos! Second of all, don't spam. If you care so little about grammar and making arguments that you type up this piece of crap in five seconds, that's spamming to get your AP up. Raven, I see you found a good rleigion for you.
I'm atheist, so I don't know 100% what I'm talking about. Sorry if I offended anyone
No, you made a very valid point. I often wonder myself why there are so many different branches of Christianity. On Ag I see respect, but most elsewhere, everyone (including people of my own faith) hates all the other branches of Christianity. We all have the same Savior.
This is stupid, don't say army of Jesus whats the point...the Bible calls us his disciples, not his army this biblicly incorrect. There shouldn't be alternative religions, just one complete religion...
Hmmm wow no common sense there! If you hail Satan (that miserable little freak sitting in Hell, what a loner) then you are therefore worshiping him wow.
you know satan is know as lucifer, or the bringer of light? (yea I know he was an angel) I think it is quite interesting that we pile the uknown and label it as one thing, such as darkness, and the root of all evils. Seems like satan is being used as a scapegoat.) C.F. lord of the flies "beasties"
I believe that the concept of the 'Jesus Army' is simply another group of people devoted to serving Jesus by doing things in the community etc.
Names can mean anything. For example, in a place near where I live, each Schoolies festival (a gathering of teens just finished their final year of school) and help out by giving out water, helping drunk people and just talking to some of the kids. They are called the 'Green Team.'
The idea of many different branches of Christianity is silly at times, especially when it causes people to turn away from the Church. Naturally, the main idea's of a Christian church are that Jesus was born and came to save mankind by dying on the cross. This view is shared throughout all Christian churches.
In the following week, I will be taking part in a Christian week called 'Big Week Out' which focuses on helping out in the community doing various things. In previous years I have painted over grafiti, cleaned gardens and helped out immigrant families. It is very rewarding.
Back to the topic, maybe 'Jesus Army' sounds aggressive - but it is most likely that they are just a Christian group passionate about serving God.
