The green light has been given! After weeks of preparation, the Contest can be launched!
This has been brewing in many users' mind for awhile. Enter the Official Writing Contest!

1)Submissions for the context must specify the word count implemented. 2)It must adhere to the period's theme as the main idea, or at least have some connection. 3)It must be submitted by the deadline. (The deadline will be according to AG time so that people will not be confused by the timeframe/exploit difference in time zones.) 4)A winner cannot win twice in a row, though he or she can submit an entry the next week. 5)Winners get a merit.
What not to include
1)No excessive inappropriate language, such as vulgarities, swearing. This includes slandering anyone in the AG community. 2)No slandering of race, religion, culture, language of people. 3)No sexual references or innuendoes, though romantic scenes such as kissing can be included.
Actions that lead to disqualification

However, elements of inspiration can be allowed. 2)Only one submission is allowed for each user. So please do not create multiple accounts for multiple entries. If it has been discovered that a user has submitted many entries due to this method, he or she will be disqualified. 3)If someone's username is used as a character's name or mentioned in the story, ask for permission first. Failure to do so may lead to disqualification.
Judge: Me, though I will appoint someone else if I want to take part.
I propose a toadally new theme altogether then? Something that will interest many of the writers here. I don't think freeze was that interesting of a theme really (even though I tried).
Unless there all of a sudden are entries for this current contest, I will have to remake the theme into a different one, if that is all right with you Alt. I had permission to change it if I wanted to judge this next one. So, I will give it one day, and on the afternoon of Friday, I will change the theme and let you guys have at it! I will be thinking of an interesting enough theme by then.
A new theme indeed! I had the writing bug last night (rare for me nowadays) and I might have a little left in me for this; though to be honest, I would rather use it to advance my current projects. Still, if the the theme is right...
Vague but interesting? I suppose I could come up with a theme that could have multiple definitions of the word, so that everyone could think up a story to go with one. So at 9:00 PM tonight I'll put up the theme and get this ball rollin'.
Alright, so I spent the entire day thinking of a new theme, so time for the new one to take its place.
Theme: Fear
Deadline: 1st of February
Judging: 3rd of February
I tried to come up with one that was both "interesting and vague", so hopefully this is a good one to do. I'll go call a mod and ask to change the title for me
Fear is probably the most interesting and strongest theme I could think of back then. Besides, writing a short story about say, an insane man fleeing an asylum while experiencing horrific effects, would make the judge himself feel interested.
Make the judge happy, but also worn out. I want there to be piles of papers on my desk aaaall for me to look through and to judge. Yes, it will be hard for me, BUT. I want this thread to gain more recognition so it can become another sticky again.
Doom, discord, quarantine, insanity....those are good sub-themes of Fear
I'm thinking about entering this competition, but what's the word count for this short story? Same as the one mentioned for the first story contest, 500-2000 words with a 10% margin?
A short story is, by definition, a piece of short fictive literature with one chapter, a full plot, setting, and characters, and is usually made with a maximum of a couple thousand words.
So the judging requirement for me will be 500min/5000max words. Longer is not usually better, but it gives the author more of a chance to delve deeper into the plot. Some plots require more thought than others, so I shall give authors more room to type.
Glad you decided to enter MrDayCee Looking forward to reading it sometime
Okay so...those who thought about participating here...you do realize that the deadline is in half a week right? Cenere and Strop gave us the chance to get the ball rolling again, and you're pretty much throwing it back in their faces. If there aren't at least 3 entries for the competition by the deadline, so help me, I'll just say screw it and leave this thread dead.
