what are people favourite punk bands. The Clash famous for being abit better at usic and for the reggae influence. the Sex pistols least the archtypal ones punks. The Damned The original ppunk badn 9well the forst to release their single) The Ramones the americans. Or someone else? I think the Clash just get it for me cos London Calling is one of the best songs ever I think.
People, the only metal gods are Black Sabbath. The rest are well, not gods. They invented metal. And are still the best running. Although somewhat inactive at the moment.
I think that was Iron Butterfly, actually. I may be wrong. the first "metal" song was arguably Helter Skelter...tho most of us would consider that rock, now. Black Sabbath is the largest contributer to the emergence of metal, tho, and are generally credited with pioneering the genre. Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth helped popularize thrash....and as a result they popularized metal. Then grunge came along, and with the help of Nu-Metal they almost wiped out heavy metal, which was saved by the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, which included bands like Lamb of God. So metal survived and is now thriving, no thanks to Metallica, who decided to do the whole Load/Reload/St. Anger/Death Magnetic thing... XP but...yah. thats the basic history. The only problem we have now is the Emo movement...which needs to be drowned in acid.
