krin has given each class the ability to do massive ammounts of damage with a single attack. this attack usually requires a bit of setup to reach its full potential.
In Bios this attack is widrawal which requires you to go into predator+toxicant+shadow blend+sharp senses/enrage to do HUGE ammounts of damage
In hydros this attack is shatter which requires atleast 3 water/ice buffs on the enemy,this to does huge ammounts of damage.
Now to come to the topic in psychos believe it or not this attack is IMPLOSION.to achieve very high damage a psycho must choose the path of a shadow.by around lvl 20 or so you should have unlocked-
dark echos- the damage dont is not very high,but it lowers the shadow defense of the ememy
epiphany-this is THE best attack of the shadow tree
it damages the ememy for 120% of your instinct.Alone the damage is not very high but when combined with insecurity it is epic.
insecurity-lesser defense against your attacks=more damage taken
psycho. form-increases instinct by 30% and boosts helth focus regen.Enough said.
dark infusion-its weaker that epiphany but gets stronger with implosion
implosion- this is the core of your damage.It doubles the DoT of your attacks. dont stop after seeing the 600% health regen speed up.seriously how many enemies have you seen heal them selves for more that 500hp.EXCLUDING GREGOR NONE OF THEM.
free will- its always handy to have when you are low on health.
now for the part that you all have been waiting for
how do you damage an ememy for 20k with only DoT
This is the way i do it.
Epiphany->insecurity-&gtsycho form->dark infusion->dark echos->implosion.
using the above order of attacks my lvl 30psycho can do 20k damage when implosion is applied.this 20k does not include the damage the ememy has taken even before you applied implosion
see for yourself if you skip the turns of the opponent(i say this because the enemies in the campaign rarely crystalize/flash freeze/traumatize you) if you do the setup right you will do 15k+ damage when you apply implosion and around 7k during the setup.

Epiphany actually does damage equal to 240% of your Instinct because Overdrive (doubles DoT and HoT) is the pre-resituate.

Nonsense. Have you seen that Frost Lord's reconstruct?

the frost lord reconstructs slowly. yes he does get back quite a lot of hpduring the entire duration of the buff but implosion is only present for one turn AND even if the damage multiplier is lower than the HoT multiplier the damage done is way higher and it outweighs and cancels out the healing....Another thing that i have observed is that is you keep veradux on phalanx from the starting of the fight and then change him to relentless for one turn his first attack is usually an electro bolt which removes the buff

the_zombie_killer, the Frost Lord also has "reconstruct" ability that is different from the frost zombies' heal over time ability. Nevertheless, you won't probably go against FL with a echoing psycho, or if you'll do, he'll reconstruct early in the battle, leaving your combo ruined if you start i early, but he wastes a lot of focus for that, so just get him apply "Frozen Blood" or what his DoT effect is named, then traumatize, then set your combo and pwn.

About Veradux bolting when out of phalanx - yep, that's almost always true, but make sure he has 20 focus for that

actually once you land the epiphany and the insecurity you are safe because the sheer power of the epiphany DoT will either EXTREMELY limit the healing done(may bring the healdown to 100or 50 or somethin)or it might completely destroy the heal and might even do some damage once you go into psycho form you do around 25% more damage(atleast thats what happens with me) against the enemy dark infusion is only icing on the cake and dark echos amplifies the damage a little more.

Recon is a force to be reckoned with. Your idea would do nothing but accelerate it. His 8k health can regen in four turns. Even with the damage, you won't slow it much b/c it gets buffed too...

Besides, you won't have this kind of setup at this point in the game anyways, so it doesn't matter...

Back to the main topic, wonderful job finding this. If you have not already, put it in the psycho stickied thread to tell the rest of the forum...

yeah i really dont expect pple to have these skill unlocked at that stage of the game anyways XD.actually shadow damage is only useful in the 3rd stage onwards because that is the time when you have the attribute points to max out all the skill to do some serious damage.i myself was an electric psycho till the end of world 2.on reaching world 3 i respec.to the shadow tree and then started dishing out large ammounts of damage

Not to mention very lacking in defensive abilities (one free will isn't enough)

Excellent find but needs some tweaking before it's really usable.

well i suggest you only use this strat after reaching zone 3 where the enemies actually survive you onslaught to make the implosion worth while.according to me the 3rd zone is the easiest zone and the best zone to get used to the shadow tree.for every 4 points you put in instinct put one in vitality.oh and BTW if you go electric the usual ability wheel consists of 3 shock therapy 2 electric storm one form wraith or psycho i traumatize and i free will so you are not better of being a electric psycho.YES i do agree you finish the game on atleast challenging difficulty before you go shadow.of and to answer your previous question dark infusion without implosion does around 100 damage

since we're on the topic, where does focus come from in this build? dark infusion? or can you last long enough without regaining focus for psycho form to come back?

nonono i mean how much would you lose by ditching dark infusion in the setup and just going:

Insecurity->Psycho Form->Epiphany->Dark Echos->Implosion

? Because then you get the Psycho boost when you use Epiphany, take one less turn to get to the BOOM, and have an extra spot on your wheel. =D

I'm not the discoverer though, and I haven't realllyyy tested either your way or mine, but lemme know what you think kay?
