I don't think I have seen anything this backwards in my life. I mean, adults don't even get tried as adults for killing people that have repeatedly committed acts like this against them.

Justice must be served. He is obviously guilty of a premeditated, heinous act if he, quite willingly, gets a high powered rifle and blows his dads brains out, while he's asleep. If it was in self defense, it would be understandable, but asleep? That is the act of an unstable, cowardice child. If he can kill once, he can kill again. Even if sexually or physically abused, murder is NEVER the option. The father obviously didn't think his son would kill him in cold blood, as he left the weapon within easy reach of a child. He may be exempt from the death penalty, but he deserves the maximum sentence.
