ok well let me first tell you guys that i wasnt too sure on where to put this because well... it just doesnt really belong anywhere so i guess this would catagorize as support.

Ok so lately ive been a little more active and ive seen on some games like for example the one i played before i decided to post this "choose your 2012" i saw about every single commnent on the comments page with 1 or 2 words. and the one post that didnt have 1 or 2 words was 3 words... -.-i realize that theirs not much we can do but flag the comments and be sad about it. but i just want to make sure the mods are staying on their feet on the games since im really getting tired of posts that say

yeah, lots of spam.
All you can do is flag it and hope a mod deletes it.

Well either they don't know their spamming or don't really care. Or if there into the gaining ap stuff, possibly just trying to get more points.

There has been SOOO much spam because there has been SOOO many spammers. Just flag the comments or posts and then mods will delete it. Just dont go quoting them `OHH you spammer` That will only count you as one too. So just flag.

Because I've been skipping my meals, I've been eating noobs only.

Dude spam were, is and will always be in this site no matter how hard the mods and the admins work to eliminate it.

Just chillax, and let the mods take care of the spam.

I have probably flagged 500 comments/posts so far. Most likely around 490 came from game comments, people who have mostly just comments and games rated, and are usually Gold Squire and below. I don't like stereotyping, but that is the way it is usually. Just flag them and let it go. The mods to put spam deletion as a top priority, since obstructions should be removed first, and then improve everything else that is already good for the better.

Yea but i think that mabey... (and i probly should have put this in my first post) their should be an automatic comment deleting thing like on youtube... so maney flags like 10 makes them lose their comment and the AP awarded from that comment. witch would slow it down or even put a stop to it because why post a comment trying to get AP when they wont get any AP from it.

Lol, hypocrite

Mmhm. Not only him either.

For a while, I tried to organize a flagging group. It went for about a month, then we all got
bored of flagging the comments, because there were so many of them. I don't even know if those
comments were deleted, either. I flag every time I play a game, and it usually goes on for the
entire history of comments. We try to get ideas spinning, but it won't stop in the end. People
always will spam, no matter what.

Plus, the games are on the front page, which probably means there are more active users on Armor Games. Games that never make it to the front page don't even get to 2 pages within a week.

The fact is, there are thousands of users, and only a few mods. So we cannot possibly delete every piece of spam. That is why we need the help of members to take care of spammers. The flag tool is so helpful, and most people just don't use it. I find a ton of spammers through comments that get flagged, because the same names keep showing up. so if people keep flagging, and we keep seeing the same offenders, then it is a lot easier for us to take care of it. We want to control spam too, we are just pretty outnumbered!

That's pretty much what happened to my steady spam deletion. So much of it, so boring to deal with. Takes soooo much time. I still delete spam occasionally, but I really do have better things to do... > >

Also, poor admins for being the only ones with access to the flagged ones. :P

Well, why don't you give the mods access to the flaged ones?

You don't have a mass delete button? It doesn't take that long to flag stuff. How long does it take to delete?

well i think that like what sam said why not give regular mods the ability to see flaged ones and also i understand that it must be hard to get all of the messages

i was just wandering when a comment gets removed does the person who posted the comment lose the AP for the comment? it doesnt really do anything to just remove the comment besides make the posts more meaningfull... if they didnt gain any AP why do it? i mean some people might just want to make people mad but other then that their wouldnt be much spam...

also ricador how am i the hipocryt when you just spammed... in the rules it says

No spam. Please make your thread relevant, and your replies to a topic related to the discussion. Posts must be more than 5-7 words long.

so you spammed acording to the rules... hipocryt.

Well the only thing i could possibly say to help make this EPIC spamming stop is to either have that flagging system like on youtube where if its flagged atleast 10 times it is deleted and they lose the ap or simply just get more moderators. well i guess i should start a flagging club also.

Yes. When a comment is deleted, the points that were gained are removed.

where if its flagged atleast 10 times it is deleted and they lose the ap

This becomes a problem in a few ways... first, 10 people never flag only one comment. If a comment is flagged more than 2 or 3 times, it is pretty unusual. So the bar would have to be set pretty low. In addition, not all comments that are flagged are spam. Some people just flag stuff, and get their friends to flag stuff, out of spite. I have found quite a few moderator comments and merit worthy comments that have been flagged, when they certainly were not spam. All I can think is someone has a grudge and flags an innocent person in the hopes that we won't catch it and they will get deleted. So without patrolling what goes through, there isn't really a good way of ensuring that only spam is deleted.

It takes long to flag 100 comments too.. And depending on how we delete it, it takes a fair amount of time...
And no, sadly we don't.
