Liking it is a matter of taste, as is liking anything.
It doesn't get it's own category, it's a genre. Just like you can talk about Disney material in general. Or stop motion animated shorts. Or Warner Brothers cartoons. Anime is just a genre like any other, with its own unique traits (like any other genre, since those traits are what makes them genres).
Also, guys, please try to remember to post a reason for why it's your favorite or fill out your posts with some more on topic chatter. Otherwise this'll get locked. :<

Lol really? Well Pokemon used to be cool, back like the first season. Now it sucks >.< I mean I wouldn't watch it even if it didn't (not into that anymore) but the new voice actors sound so much different.

I remember being 9 (or so) and watch the first episode of pokemon a Saturday morning in the summer. Now that I think of it, I feel old - -
Anyway, favorite anime is most likely Tsubasa Chronicles and Hetalia. Because one is creepy-odd-exiting, and the other is really funny.

Usually, if something is not based directly off a manga, it will become pretty lame after a season or two, especially if they are based off of games. The merchandise is the thing that drives it all.
lol my favorite anime shows.... i dont watch much so heres my top 5 and the only 5 anime shows i watch lol. they're in order though 1 being my favorite.
5. full metal alchemist 4. bleach 3. boondocks (yes its anime) 2. code geass 1. avatar the last airbender (yes anime)
i know they dont make new episodes of all of these except for one lol, but i still like watching them.
