Alright, so I've been off the site for a while and it's let me do some thinking. During this time I can across a few um revelations of you would.

1. Christians should never label themselves as republican or democrat both parties have many conflicting views with Christianity and siding with you is ridiculous. I.E. democrat pro-choice, republican against gay marriage (more on that later)

2. Gay marriage IS against Christianity BUT telling them they can't marry because it goes against our views is like telling atheists the same thing.

3. War is a very temperamental thing, Jesus preaches love however God does "sanction" war's in the old testament but that's more of a Jewish view point. But that's arguable.

4. Again love is the main message Jesus preaches never, ever hate someone and think it's not a sin it IS. If you honestly want to live for God you must humble yourself and love everyone from the least popular to the most.

5. I don't know if anyone really cares..But I really hope someone does, obviously all my points are here to be dated, but please don't make this like 36th Christianity Vs. Atheism thread.

I am an atheist, and I wish all christians thought like you. The problem is that people think, that because they believe something, evryone else should, and that principle has been shown since the beggining of time. Persecution of the minority religion has been demostrated in almost every ancient empire. And today people still do the same, to point in which the action that they take to enforece their beliefs contradicts what they are trying to convert people to.

This however was proposed from the minds of men, not God. People fight wars in the name of God,
word spreads, and eventually, they are mindlessly consumed by the fact that he may have called the
war from the beginning, when it was the leaders of the group that started it.

Don't see this today, do we? Hmm.... I wonder about you guys... I see this all the time. They
turn into a bunch of liars. After they figure out that they disobeyed the "rules", they
just say "oh, I'll just ask God for forgiveness". They do it again and again and it turns into
a habit of sorts, thinking that it is fine to do so.

Actually, the majority of Christians are republican. They respect similar views and they
agree on pretty much the same thing. I would want to meet a Christian democrat.

My point in this whole thing is, their only views politically come from what God thinks. They
ask God for his wisdom, however, they feel that he really did give his counsel, when all it
is was themselves in a 3rd PoV. The real reason is that they view things based on their morals,
what they themselves think they should do, they just need to see it from "the eyes of God".

I'm really sure what this has to do with love, so um right?

Ha well ya no duh but like i said being in one party really doesn't work because each party has conflicting views on Christianity.

I go to a Catholic high school, and the majority of kids there are democrat. Everybody but like two people are Christian. As you can see, this is why I like AG. I can get a more worldly debate.

He only meant wars to protect, not wars to gain anything. Crusades obviously don't fall under that, but WW2 would.

Right, also the word used for murder in the ten commandments is different than the word used for killing during war. But again Jesus preached love, so ya.

Just to clarrify, I meant I'm surrounded by so many Christians that I don't get a fair perspective of atheism from school. Also these people couldn't hold themselves up for five minutes on AG, as the conservative argument for McCain was "He looks nice" and the democrat argument for Obama was "He's a good speaker". :/ Almost makes you regret having a viewpoint.

Haha agreed, I really hate parties, it makes it impossible to get more than two people on the ballot. Democracy doesn't work right with them..

Actually, the main message of Jesus' preachings was that there is one God, the creator of Heavens and Earth and all that are in them â" including man. That is what I believe.

I don't know what to say about this, hm. Well, I can't debate about it because it is a true statement.

I'm a Christian and an independent... I generally align myself with republicans, but not always... I am conservative though...

2. Gay marriage IS against Christianity BUT telling them they can't marry because it goes against our views is like telling atheists the same thing.

I believe in free will, but at the same time, I'm not exactly a fan of homosexuality...
Personally, I would have no qualms about sending them all to live on Antarctica if it wouldn't kill them all and was about a hundred degrees warmer... If they want to be the way they are, so be it, but this way, they could be around people who agree with them and don't bug the people who do. They can set up their own government and so long as its peaceful, let them stay there...

As for war, well, it is temperamental as you said... I am fine with it if it serves the greater good of the human race. I hate bloodbaths, but WWII I believe was necessary to prevent the Nazis from executing the rest of the world...

4. You are right, I do struggle with this. I'm not one to hold a grudge, but there is one person who is a self-righteous moron with a superiority complex and without common sense... I'm not trying to justify it, I'm just saying, it takes a lot to get me to actually hate someone.
Aside from him, there are people I don't like, but I do try to be respectful regardless... One of my favorite quotes:

Tolerance
"I promise to respect your ideas, no matter how wrong you may be"

Wow.

Just because you and another group of people get "bugged" by the fact that other people happen to love people of the same gender, you would ship them away to their own little world?

That's...disgusting.

Hey, I said so long as they were peaceful and it was warmer... It wouldn't be so bad... Look at australia. It started as criminals and now they are a wonderful country...
They can take everything they have with them... I stop bugging them and they stop bugging me. Everybody wins...
Oh and I didn't say I wanted to do that, I said I would be okay with it. If they were sent off to their own little world, I wouldn't complain... I'm not going to go warm the planet just so they can go live by themselves, I'm just saying if it were to happen, I would be okay...

And how is that disgusting?
