I would like to know where in the Bible does it say that homosexuality is a sin. Not that it would matter to me, because i do not believe in a God, but I don't think the bible teaches that homosexuality is wrong.

That is nature, to be feeded by your mother. And babies don't get sexually stimulated, at least not that I've ever heard of. And she is your MOTHER, last time i heard incest was against the bible.
And we are born nothing, you're not born knowing about sex, or reproduction, if we were, we would be a bunch of smartass humans.
And also, most gays are together because of each others love, not because they want to have kids, and even if they did they would have to be idiots to not realize they can't have any of their own.

I just checked that out. That's a very good point. Not to say, of course, that it's easy for everyone to accept homosexuality. It took me a while too, and it still freaks me out just a little, but we as fair people have to look past that. I think it easily proves that gays aren't going to Hell (if it exists, of course), even if some people might want to think they are.
While this is an interesting discussion, most of the threads have nothing I can really add to them, so I'm leaving now. I'm off to try to find a life. But when I fail miserably, I'll be back.

I'm not sure 'sweettp' constitutes a biblical scholar.
Eunuchs are castrated men, historically used in harems, and as guards, because post-castration the sex drive tends to completely disappear. It has nothing to do with 'impregnating' the whores, it has to do with the eunuchs having no desire to have sex with the whores at all.
They talk about 'born thus' as a eunuch - it doesn't mean they're gay; it makes reference to an impotent man with no sexual desire or potency. This person is reading something into the bible that just isn't there.
I would once again remind you people of two rules:
* Remain on topic. This means you must, as the title says, discuss what the Bible might say about homosexuality, not about what you think about homosexuality.
* Do not post hateful content. Breaking this rule is a serious offence and you have been warned, I will go through and penalise those who have done so, and I will do so in future.
Ya lost me coach. Is not the entire book the word of god? I certainly don't subscribe to it, but how as a religious person can you pick and choose which rules to follow? Which ones *are* cut & dry and which ones aren't? It's not as though those passages are open to interpretation.
Correction, every single passage is open to interpretation. A "literal reading" is merely one such interpretation. Whether or not the Bible is "the word of God" or "eople claiming that stuff they write is the word of God" relates to other interpretations.
I think that's all I need to say.

Actually "Death to gay people" shows hate towards to homosexuals.
Still wondering why people keeps refering back to the old testament, as we as Christians should be focusing on the new testament. It is Jesus who will judge us, and thus his teachings that should count the most.

It is still a hateful remark, and should as such not be expressed on these forums. Keep it less hating. Since, you know, flaming is not allowed and there are gays on here. Just keep it less flamy.
Also, it is possible to splice two eggs together so that a child gets two biological mothers. Last I heard they were working on a way to splice the genetic material from two spermatozoa thingies together so they could be implanted in an emptied eggcell (with no remnants of the genetic material from the woman who donated it), but yeah. Not as impossible as you'd think it to be.
I think I'll ignore the rest of this thread for now... Maybe go wall of text on you all later, though honestly I don't care what you think your book says. I'm not a christian, your bible's rules does not apply to me.

Let me think... As far as I read, and watched on documentaries, Christianity was one of the first religions to not have sex as part of the religion, or include it in rituals. Therefore, I don't think the Bible encourages homosexuality, because it's a branch in sex.
Also, Roman Catholic Church is very strict, and it went against a lot of other religions because of what they had as part of their religion.

You don't have to be a Biblical scholar to interpret the Bible. Also, I've seen similar arguments to this elsewhere- it's a matter of interpretation. Though you have a good point. The validity of the source and the argument is questionable.

Still. . .it's stupid to follow only parts of the Old Testament. If Christians only choose to follow some of the old testament, then they're not exactly honoring the Bible as they should. So if anyone uses the Old Testament to support their anti-homosexual argument, you should be never eating pork, shrimp, shellfish, or cream sauce, and you should make an animal sacrifice in Jerusalem when you sin.

Wrong, it's a hateful remark and what's important for you to know is that I banned the user who made that remark for a certain period of time, and will not hesitate to do the same for anybody else who might post similar.
If you want to split hairs, I will allow that phrase, if only barely. Not because I don't agree with it (although that position just plain makes no sense to me), but because it's still borderline when it comes to demonstrating one's lack of tolerance. However, I allow it on the grounds that you can apply the same phrase to other groups without it qualifying as being hateful (e.g. "all cancer patients need to be cured", which is still wrong, but isn't taken to be a hateful statement, unlike "all cancer patients need to die".)
However you're still leaving yourself open to criticism about a "curing gays" agenda, and once again, that's not what we're here to discuss. Find the right thread and talk about it there.

I absolutely agree - those things are in the holy book, and as per Matthew 5:17 - quoting Jesus himself:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place."
Now, I know a lot of christians try to dismiss the old testament as being 'for the jews' but passages like that are pretty hard to ignore. Yes, Jesus & the new testament are a more 'loving' message, but I don't think it's accurate to state that Jesus was okay with homosexuality.
And yeah, while it sounds silly about the whole sacrificing animals & not eating shellfish, and the belief that homosexuality is an abomination - it *is* in the holy book, and those are laws that are to be obeyed.
The not eating meat part in the old testament was abolished when Noah got off the ark, God said he could eat meat then.. only somethings in the old testament were changed.

And that's where it gets them. The bible states that homosexuality is wrong, and it influences
the minds of willing people to the point where they will not tolerate any of the sort by any
means at all, and some of these people, by the name of "Fundamentalists" would go
to the lengths of any means to uphold the bible's rules by attacking, discriminating,
and influencing other people, while attacking those that try to help them. What does this
say about the credibility of the bible's motto: "love your friends and love your enemies more"?
I also resent the "gays need to get cured" statement. What about them is any more foul than
those that think they are? You better watch your footing there.
God loves everyone...except gays, women, blacks, muslims...basically everyone who isn't a white male. And he means actuall whites, no canadians, jews, or the Irish.
Also, those actual whites have to be christian. So basically no norwegians, french, swedish, finish, russian.
