Well really, why do people think death is so bad?! I mean really, we're all just filthy, disease ridden unholy animals, so why wouldn't this be any more different from losing a mouse? Why do we allow ourselves to be attached to people, friends, and pets so... CLOSELY!? As far as I can tell, if you're able to be devastated by a guy/girl/pet if they have to go for a month, or die, then you have to detach a little from them.

Personally, I don't hate death, it's an acquaintance of mine, I mean, we're not super close but we say hi when we see each other.

Seriously though, why do people demonize death all the time? It's a natural part of life, in fact, without death, there wouldn't really be life.

but i don't fear death. if you think logically, there really is no reason to fear death. we fear the unknown yes, but why? if its unknown, then we have no reason to fear it. death is merely a time of eternal rest, or whatever happens when you die.

To be honest, I wouldn't say most people are afraid of what happens after death. More like the actual dying experience. Dying of sickness and pain is what I would be afraid of. If we go to heaven, then great!

Let me put it this way. Why do people love life? Answer that and you have your answer.

Because life is all we have. No matter how you look at it when you boil it all down the only reason we have anything else at all is because we have life. So to lose something that big is understandably terrifying.

The lulz.

And i would say that the answer is this, without the happy ending. :/

Afterdeath = unknown
+Death = not so fun.

Because people don't know where there going after death.
If you are saved you will go to heaven if not then you will go to hell for eternity.

Why do people love life? maybe because they're deranged or they just hate life a little bit less than they hate death

"Most people think life sucks, and then you die. Not me. I beg to differ. I think life sucks, then you get cancer, then your dog dies, your wife leaves you, the cancer goes into remission, you get a new dog, you get remarried, you owe ten million dollars in medical bills but you work hard for thirty-five years and you pay it back and then -- one day -- you have a massive stroke, your whole right side is paralyzed, you have to limp along the streets and speak out of the left side of your mouth and drool but you go into rehabilitation and regain the power to walk and the power to talk and then -- one day -- you step off a curb at Sixty-seventh Street, and BANG you get hit by a city bus and then you die. Maybe."

That was hilarious. I used that as an analogy though.

I think people hate death because they fear the unknown. If they were scared of the actual dying, they could just commit suicide in some painless way and avoid the chance of dying an agonizing death. The thing is, only a very small number of people are completely 100% certain that they know what happens after death. For everyone else, no matter how much they claim to know that they're going to heaven, they secretly fear that they might be giving up their one chance at existence.

So you are saying if a train is coming at you don't try to avoid it. You are going to die anyway?

death is, at our current level of technological advancement, unavoidable a train isn't i.e. don't walk on train tracks

I'd say the reason we hate death is simply because we fear it.

We don't understand it and even though our lives can sometimes be downright miserable it's better than taking a chance at seeing what's in the next life. It's different for the incredibly depressed people of course.

I have to say that I don't really think people hate death but we do fear it. It seems to be the point of many religions to try to negate that fear but people still fear it.
I think what people really hate is aging. Feeling it showing it, etc.
