I'm contemplating over whether or not I want to spend money on the Twilight books and start reading them. Some people tell me they are absolutely the best books ever, while others say they are abolutely horrible books. So I want as many peoples opinions as possible.
And make sure you justify why you like or hate the Twilight books. Thanks!
Hmm.... Some people on this are very narrow minded.
I was really bored one day, and my brother and sister had just gone to the Breaking Dawn release. So I picked up Twilight and read it, cover to cover.
To tell you the truth, you don't have to be a teenage girl (horny or overweight) to like it. It truly is quite ridiculous as Captain Samoa pointed out. Twilight: Impossible, Implausible, Ridiculous. But for some strange reason, you get attached to the characters.
I think you should give it a try. Never say no to a good book. If you are a girl, you'll probably like it (I don't know a girl that doesn't). If you're a guy, you might still like it, but be prepared to be called Gay. A lot.
No. Read something better. Unless you're prepared to make battle against the evils of Mary Sue and her Dragon Hordes (keep your friends close and your enemies closer), there are much, much better things to read.
If you're a guy, I think that King Solomon's Mines has to be the best adventure story ever written.
Nope. They're ridiculous. Vampires are not supposed to be beatiful, pure, sparkly (?) creatures. They're supposed to be terrifying, horrible, ugly creatures that KILL.
And the storyline is ridiculous as it is. Maybe if you really, really like fantasy and adventure, pick it up, but I wouldn't suggest it.
ya you should. the series is really good. dont care if people say its only for girls. they are books and books arent sexist. so go on. if you want to know what happens ahead, you can always ask me personally. the ending of the last book is quite unexpected one.
Edward turns Bella into a vampire and she gives birth to a half-human half-vampire.
Only after knocking her unconcious, and breaking her bones during sex. Also, she breaks her spine giving birth to their hell-child, which grows up in a matter of weeks and is somehow the most gorgeous baby EVAR.
If by intense you mean 99% description of everything around the character and 1% plot, then yes.
It doesn't take literary talent to vividly describe everything. I could write down everything in my room and it's location relative to something else, then sit with a thesaurus, add the word "vampire" somewhere in every sentence, and I'd have the first half of Twilight.
Also, I believe it should be noted that I live in driving range of Forks and Port Angeles. Forks is filled with nothing but meth heads, loggers, and Mexicans. Nothing more.
I ate dinner at Bella Italia the other night; half the customers were 8-13 year old girls who were dragging their parents along the entire Olympic Peninsula on a Twilight Tour of some sort.
i say no because twilight is taking over the world. It consumed all my friends, and my aunt. I was gonna buy the book before it became so popular, but i said no. So yhea.

And so Hellboy was born?...
Back on topic, my sister read them and was pretty amazed. I'm not a big fan of vampires but I think they are worth reading. ( And no I didn't read them)
