I was watching the news and I saw them talking about when Obama swatted at a fly during a CNBC interview. Now the PETA (People for the Ethical Treament of Animals) is very upset about this. To qoute them.
"In a nutshell, our position is this: He isn't the Buddha, he's a human being, and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act."
I think that they are over reacting about the whole situation. I mean its just a fly for Gods sake. They don't have to go all defensive with the fly. They've probably done it too. So they need to just be quite about the situation. If it wasn't Obama doing it they could've cared less. I think it is just an act to get attention.
Hmm, I wonder why every time Obama does anything, there will be created a thread about it > >
But seriously, a fly... Now, if it had been a cow or something, that he had strangled to death with his belt made of zebra skin, then I would understand the fuss, but right now, nope.
I think that a fly is a bug, and even the people of th PETA kill them, so who cares? They are just like every other stupid little snob that does nothing but try to point out every flaw in someone famous.
PETA isn't going crazy over this incident. The media asked them how they felt about it and they posted a blog on their website, nothing else. Settle down...
I'm actually disappointed that this is news. Honestly, when I saw this as an AOL top story, I didn't even read it because I thought it was so ridiculous and stupid. Flies die within a couple days indoors, so why bother even putting it in the news? Just because a camera happened to see Obama in contact with another object or living creature does not make it important. Unfortunately, that's the news nowadays.
I'm not so sure the language he used was appropriate for an interview he doesn't really need to begin with... It's a fly, fly and die rhyme, so no matter what, it doesn't matter. It's just the media is kissing his a*s again. It shouldn't even be news.
Wow, though, the news is getting boring. I happened to see the story title on AOL at the bottom, and I couldn't believe it was under top news. Then again, maybe that's a good thing. Maybe there's nothing bad to report.
It's only news because he's the president and because it happened during an interview. There is plenty of more important things for news organizations to report but when PETA raises a howl they have to report it otherwise they'll just keep crabbing.
