Are you sure that it is the site that has changed, and not yourself?

I haven't seen a marked change in the site since I started gaming on AG, nor any change since I actively started posting on the forums. I'd say it's more or less the same site - more games on it now, so that can only be a good thing. Perhaps you need something new or different.

The forums here are some of the best out here - this is definitely an above-average site.

There will always be idiots everywhere that drag down the experience. Ag is no exception.

i have most certainly changed... but i would love to see a little flair added to AG and yes i understand we cannot say f this or f that but i feel that AG is run on the mind set that only 12 year olds are users

i really hope that your aim isnt at me... either way i agree to that and my point is that i would love to see AG grow and continue to provide great games, people, as well as a place to chat

If AG frustrates you so much, leave. Yapping about "I wanna quuuuuuuit" only makes things worse

But I like to yap about stuff :<
I'm still deciding.

Yea, I do find AG a little bit boring. This site is like a backdrop for entertainment in some respects. I don't usually post on the forums that often, but when I do, I usually find the threads to be OK. But I don't go on often, so I really don't know. And if your really bored, you could go play Stick Arena. That's a really fun multiplayer game. And for all those people who don't have a life either, then join the club. I in some respects find myself addicted to going on the computer, when I am not reading a book, or doing something else. My town is very, very boring. Well, sorry for that "rant" at the end.

If you're older than 12 and act it you probably won't feel the need to say f this and f that :P

Anyway. I'm not about to treat anybody if they're 12 year olds, so instead I'm going to be blunt and tell you like it is, because I know you guys can take it.

Since people are making such a huge fuss about "AG is bad" this and that, think first about the mindset of a person who complains. What do you really expect?

Further to this: "who's making the threads you call boring?" "Who's doing the flaming that pushes you away?" And, because I'm writing this, "who's blaming the moderators for troubles that have nothing to do with them?"

This last part particularly annoys me because it gives me the impression that the people here are going to grow up to be voting citizens who do nothing for themselves but complain about the administration. But you can do something for yourselves! I challenge you to find some backbone! I challenge you to find some initiative! I challenge you not to wallow around in your own self-pity and find something constructive to say about what should be done.

If you're really bored, go somewhere else. I mean somewhere real life. This is the internet. It is not (or should not be, rather) your home, or your life. The forums themselves are a backdrop for user-based entertainment and interaction and so you should only expect out of it what you can offer.

This is turning into a major gripe I have about these generations, being raised into a sense of entitlement where none such should exist. I'm not even going to address the nitty-gritty details of the various complaints themselves because I don't need to- this fundamental issue covers everything.

So with that, I encourage you to do something with yourself!

...oops, that probably came out wrong...

And now for the flip side of the coin. Maybe it will help if I tell you why I'm still on AG:

The ArmorGames forums are the only ones I remain active on because this is one of the very few internet forums that says they run a civil environment and actually mean it. Most other forums tend to include things like "no flaming" "no trolling" "no spamming" in their user policy as a token gesture then everybody does it for the lulz anyway.

That is not so here. This is supposed to be a place where you can expect to discuss things in a friendly and polite (yet sometimes heated) environment because the administration is quite strict with enforcing good manners and good conduct. We can only be as much fun as you guys (as a whole) spare us from having to lock threads and crack down on users.

That's what is relatively unique about AG. We have a vested interest in cultivating a culture of people who give a darn about good manners and good thought.

Which is why in one way it's not a bad thing to see people who are disappointed at seeing poor examples...but nonetheless I'm telling you that this is the reality of it, so deal with it!

AG has a very distinctive atmosphere...capable of provocative discussion and a very civil environment. However, I agree the forum interface needs an update...editing and previewing posts for one.

I completely agree with Parsat on the edit and preview posts thing. This is one of the most intelligent environments I have ever been to (For the most part), but the lack of an "Edit Post" button bugs me just a bit.

I think AG has a lasting appeal of sorts...

(I happen to agree with this. We've discussed this with the administration before but maybe circumstances have changed sufficiently to warrant such a change!)

I was aiming it at the idiots. . . .

The people who make the site dull, or create the idiotic threads. Not you.

Everybody hates 12. . . .

Makes. Me. SAD!

You know, I had that little joke tossed to the side of the roaring engine that is my thought, and then you had to put it in the light.
