I think that the reason is that: In todays world the indivisual identity has reduced and even from the time of our birth we belong to some groups which we dont even have advantage to choose. The world has reduced itself to gaint indivisuals that has collective intellegence of hundreds of people which make it almost impossible for an indivisual to survive. So people believes that has to be in a group, for having special advantages, like safety and strength.
Please don't ask questions if your only going to follow them with short replies.
Anyway, I would have to dissagree with you that it is not in today's world that people feel the need to belong in a group, but that it has always been that way since the start of humanity. Many animals travel in packs, and humans are no different. If you look at the earliest forms of civilization, you will find that every man and woman had a connection with a group. Sometimes people are born into a group, forced, or tricked into joining a group, sometimes they aren't. No matter the reason, groups are used to help people survive life, or help them find excitement or meaning withing life.
So let me talk about clubs on ArmorGames. Many people start clubs because they want to lead a group of other people. Others join groups because they like the idea of working their way up a ladder and having earned seniority over others. If the club has no socail standings, then the reasons why people join is simply to make friends.

Humans joined groups from the begining of humanity, but today groups are more important, because persons are isolated and the way they live has changed.
I would not say that groups are more important today than they were in the past. In fact, I say that groups are as important today as they were in the past. There are many groups dealing with race such as the KKK and the Black Panthers to politcal groups such as the Whig party to the republican and democratic party. You have your groups from long ago such as stone masons and templar knights. You have the different socail and politcal groups of egypt when the pyramids were still young.
Groups have always played a huge role in civilization. I can not say if groups today are more or less important than the ones in the past, because to say they are of greater or lesser importance would be easily debatable and would be a foolish assumption knowing the huge scale of groups there are, and have been. To comprehend the amount of groups formed by humanity and the importance of each individual one would be maddening and impossible for any one to perceive.
The only difference between groups of today's world, and the groups of yesterday, is that technology has changed the way people communicate within a group and how a group functions.
one can't make the differ, the groups control everything.
Haven't it always been like that? I'm really agreeing with NoName on this one...
But to the topic at hand, why do they join clubs... Honestly I don't know, the idea of internet clubs and groups have never really appealed to me. But the whole hierarchy/unison thing sounds probable.

That's the purpose of this thread I don't know either why we join at internet clubs/groups. Also I don't agree with your opinions, but I will supose that I do, don't we need have some individualty, now that when you use the public transit you use the mass media, when you watch television you watch the mass media, everything is massive from murder and suicide to production and storage.
Yes. But how much is a good question. Is focus on the individual necessarily a good thing?
now that when you use the public transit you use the mass media, when you watch television you watch the mass media, everything is massive from murder and suicide to production and storage.
Mass suicide really isn't that common. >_> But what is your point? In relation to internet groups?
My point is that we should join only intelligent groups with a purpose, not any group we find just to feel important and accepted.
Why? Do you have something against people needing or wanting to feel important or accepted, even if it's meaningless otherwise? What if people aren't interested in having a purpose, or doing... 'something'; they just want to shoot the shit & be friends and feel needed. Is that so wrong?

Never said that's bad, just my opinion is that some groups are pointless, but if you make friends there these groups are useful.
i think your assumption is logically correct, although i am quite sure you copied and pasted that from another source. if not. *applauds* well done.
I have thought everything I wrote here and the only part which it's not mine is: The world has reduced itself to gaint indivisuals that has collective intellegence of hundreds of people, I readed that phrase on a book and I liked it so I rewrote it with some changes.
