How fast is the processor on your computer? I just want to get an idea what the range of speeds are for the players in this community. I read some of the feedback on the games on AG, and I often see comments about players experiencing slowdown when they play a game. I'd like to know what the speeds are on these computers that are experiencing slowdown to keep in mind for my own programs.

Mine is a little fast, but it keeps getting a blue screen (not the screen of death) I want an HP touchsmart

my RAM is like 4 gigs? yea 4 gigs, on my laptop. one of them. have not checked the others.

TSL, could you be more specific? It could be some viruses. Vista is.... much slower. XP is simpler. you mean it runs at 1GHz when you play a game? or like anytime?


When I play a game and occasionally when I don't. Before when I had XP and it was beautifully fast when playing a game. I could have all the graphics on medium and it ran at like 30 F/S. I don't know what my RAM is, I'll check sometime.

use Vista only if you have 2Gb RAM

You will need 4Gb RAM for vista ultimate, they eat RAMzz!

Why u need vista? XP is fine and awesome... I consider Vista as a defect product, they put too much graphic and unnecassary tools.

If you have Pentium Quad-Core Extreme with only 1Gb RAM, it will be useless, the RAM can't take the CPU, 8 Gb will be enough.

Try to play Prince of Persia with all features at max, if it not lag, I can say it's a fine spec. VGA will works best with enough CPU and RAM. You can try to overcloak your PC or ask around your friend/vendor how to get high spec with medium cost.

Well, it says it has 1.80GHz and 2.00 Gb Ram.
I'm not sure if that's quick or slow, or if it has anything to do with speed.

But, ignoring numbers, it's quite fast. Sometimes it can handle up to 15 tabs open.

15 tabs? *gigglesnort*

I occasionally end up with 20-50 tabs before I realize I should close stuff off. Often while running Photoshop. And various IM programs.

Mine has its ups and downs. It glitches every once in a while. Today it seems to be going pretty quickly.

Not very. I think it's mostly my bad internet connection though, I don't want to pay double for faster internet.

My computer is outdated by about three years. I also bought an Intel P4 just around the time they introduced their dual core computers. Bad timing. My computer is slow.

What's the speed exactly?

The speed of my internet connection is about 1 megabit per second. Slow at times.
