I don't think that you can post Captain America pictures for copyright issues.

At least if you do, you should post a link to the source of the render, and possibly post the copyright for the character.

Looks nice, though.

If I walked out the street, and asked a passing by teen if they knew Captain America, there would be a big chance they did not know.
Non-Americans from after the comics stopped selling are not really aware of the guy existing, so no, he is not kidding you.

Yes, Zega, he does exist (in comics) and was quite famous outside the US a long time ago.
Should be possibly for you to check him on wikipedia, if you want to.

Wikipedia:

After the war ended, the character's popularity waned and he disappeared by the 1950s

Yeah... So do you guys expect me to know him now?

oshi hes copyright i feel stupid >_> does it really matter, the render is in no way copyright because its a sprite render from a person on another forum so i don't need to post a link to a page full of at least 100 captain america sprites. if i took the picture directly from something else, say a videogame with him in it, then it would be copyright, but this person made this render so i can use it how i want. (if he didnt make it he at least cut it out of the original picture so there really is no way to tell >_&gt

Hey i remember this.

I like the sparkly effect you have going. There's like stars everywhere and that's cool and everything. I'm not sure i like how sharpened Capt. America is though. I think it'd look pretty epic if there would be like a blur trail under his shield so it looks like he's swinging it upwards.

Actually it is still copyright, though a really crappy one of them.
Just put Captain America (C) -peoplez- and the link to the render image, and you should be off, but:
You still need to show the source of the render. We have had people not a long time ago who claimed that the renders he used was his, because he had used them in his images.
He got into a mighty amount of trouble, which ended with him leaving and possibly a permaban as well.

So, for sake of keeping out of trouble, take the time to write in the source of the image in your posts as well.
But as mentioned, the sig looks rather well. I am terrible at doing that, so, good job.

Gosh darn it, another copyright discussion...

Do you have permission to use the sprite which that person made? If you don't have permission and/or the sprite wasn't up for free use (like a creative commons license), you have technically committed art theft. Permission is needed when you use the works of others.

The credits you need to write are:
Name of the artist who made the rendered drawing you use in your work.
Name of whoever holds copyright to any character you depict within your work.
Name of whoever made the brush sets you use for your work, if they have stated that they wish to receive credit when you use their brushes (that one is a bit tricky).

But i never did that did i? The picture is mine yes, but i never said the render was mine, because it isn't. And i don't even have the link anymore because this picture was made at least 2-4 months ago.

Do you have permission to use the sprite which that person made?

Its on planetrenders.net you don't need permission they put the renders up for free use and don't ask for you to give them credit. So technically i can use them as i please as long as i don't say they are mine, which i haven't.

You still need to state where you got it from.

Linking to planetrenders should be sufficient in this case.

This site is very strict when it comes to dealing with art theft and copyright. I can link you to a thread with extensive discussion directed at a user who refused to give credit because he insisted it was 100% his pic even if he used renders and therefore he didn't need to give credit.
Because that is not how copyright works.

And beware, bans can be given out if someone refuse to abide to copyright rules.

I will repost something Strop wrote on the issu:
* If copying or pasting other material into your work, ensure images are under commons or free use. Stock image websites, and private gifts for which you have available documented evidence of your permission to use, are your only safe bet.

* Always credit the source. Even if you're drawing something yourself and it's of a trademarked character, cite the copyright. Characters are intellectual property!

* Preferred: include a commentary of how you did it. This is also beneficial from people who want to learn and also for you to look at how you might improve your own skills. It also helps because I frequently ask a suspected thief how they did something and they make up some BS or don't know what to say...dead giveaway.
