What do you guys think of Joe Jackson? Before when the Jackson 5 were together, Joe was very abusive when they didn't do things correctly. He tried to control all of them . . . until they finally began to lead their own lives. Now, his son is dead . . . and what is he doing? Trying to build his future business ventures. While he was being interviewed, one question asked led him to begin talking about his future business plans.
On a better note . . .Mike left his dad nothing. Joe was not even mentioned in the will. What does that tell you about their relationship?
What do you guys think about this? What do you think his motives are? Why do you think he continues to disrespect his son, even after his death?

Yeah. He hit them and controlled them . . . look how much good that did. They were an excellent group, but look what happened to Micheal. He could never really live a normal life.

WOW! Slow down here. If what you are trying to say is that Joe Jackson is the reason that Micheal was screwed up, then you are an idiot.

It's not all Joe's fault but come on. What kind of childhood did he have in order to help screw him up mentally like that? And no I am not an idiot.

And if it wasn't Joe or his childhood, then what caused his mental imbalance?

Joe was a jerk, abused his kids, then promoted his record company or whatever in an interview about Michael's death. I'm glad that Michael left him nothing, the only thing that worries me is that the children will be living with him. I hope that he doesn't abuse them like he did Michael. I really am worried about them though, since he doesn't seem to have changed much. Wasn't sad enough about Michael to pass up the exposure for his business.

i bet joe hadda grudge against michael after he bleached his skin...

He had vitiligo...

Joe hit Mike = disciplinary so they learn not to do what's bad for them
Joe being super controlling = trying to create a safe place

Graham are you trolling? Hitting children is not effective in discipline in the long run. It's going to scare them into submission, but someday they're going to hit back. If they don't then that means you've caused so much psychological damage that they're afraid to defend them self. If he was only being very controlling, sure that could be his attempt to create a safe place. Combined with the abuse however, it was just a way for him to control them all.

here is no universal "normal" because... your normal is based on your cultural experiences

So you're trying to say that Michael's life was normal? There might be someone out there who would have found it normal, but the vast majority (and probably even Michael) would admit that it was no where near normal.

WOW! Slow down here. If what you are trying to say is that Joe Jackson is the reason that Micheal was screwed up, then you are an idiot.

So who you blame?

Jeez, this thread is full of people not making much sense. Snazzy seems to have the right idea though.

If you actually read that he would have had to have VERY severe vitiligo to go completely white. . . .

Yes, I've read it. But would you want to go on stage with random blotches of white all over? No. His doctor told him that he could have an operation done to remove pigmentation from his entire body, so he had that done.

when i said

i was looking for an optimistic side of things and not to an effect, nothing about what came of it, only to a possibility as to why

So you're trying to say that Michael's life was normal?
lashing out? i had no assumption whatsoever based on how i grew up. Although it may have turned into Michael's normal.

So who you blame?
instead of building self-destructive hate, try not to blame, deal with the matter now

Thank you for agreeing with me Green. Your opinions are what I have been trying to get across since really early this morning.
