Despite his strong links with United's arch-rivals Liverpool, Owen would welcome a move to United because it would give him the chance to prove himself at Champions League level and also bolster his chances of regaining his place in England head coach Fabio Capello's plans for next summer's World Cup finals.
Due to his fitness problems, the recruitment of Owen would seem to represent a gamble for Ferguson but concerns over his durability will be offset by the chance to hire him on a free transfer.
I sincerely hope he can regain his confidence, which has taken a battering. He had such potential to be an England legend. This move could make this dream come to fruition.

The relegation of Newcastle where he was the team Captain I think that was the worst thing for him, even worst than the injuries and the time at Madrid.
As much as I hate United I think it could be a good move for Owen. They have the resources both on and off the pitch to give him everything he needs to get back to international level. The training facilities are good, great physios etc. and unlike at Newcastle there will be alot less pressure on him. At Newcastle if he didn;t score they lost and got relegated etc. at United he has the players surrounding him so it natters less if he doesn't score. I hope it works out for him because Owen is an absolute legend.
Owen made some mistakes during his career and now isn't in his best physical and mental condition, though I think he will be the best striker of the team, cause I think that Berbatov is too slow and the only way he scored goals was someone runs he crosses the opposition defense can do nothing and he goes and pushes the ball into the net.
Well, it's not that Owen is not good, it's because he didn't have good people passing him the ball in Newcastle
The Newcastle team wasn't bad but they could not work as a team. Duff, Butt, Nolan, Martins, Lovenkrands, Viduka, Gutierez, Beye, Geremi, Alan Smith, Barton (when is normal) are good players. But the defense is really horrible.
Oh yes! I heard NewCastle is being sold/in negotiations for sale to Singapore Xp Hooray!
I don't know Bin Laden's brother tried to buy the team but he failed Mike Ashley doesn't know what he wants to do with Newcastle.
